What Wintec saddle do you have, if you don't mind me asking? And is it regular flocked or CAIR (that's what they call it... right?)? I know they have the different saddles with different quality level/slightly different design, so that's why I'm asking. Do you think it would be more worth it to try to find a used version of one of the nicer Wintec saddles, or go for a new version of the cheaper saddle?

I didn't know the Wintec english saddles had leather billets. I have a Wintec western saddle and english bridle, and LOVE them. I don't have to worry about them getting wet when I ride in the rain and all the care that comes with leather tack.

mine has leather billets. I would say considering the price of a new wintec I would get the new one. They are really inexpensive and, like I said fit most horses. Mine is an all pourpose 2000. It has a "equi-suede" seat. Which is like suede. I would have to say unless it is the caramel jumping saddle get the black. Their brown is, well, brown. I think that the ones without suede seats look more leather like (if you care about that) but I wouldn't let it influence your desition. Mine has cair. I like it but I think that that is more of a personal choice. I use mine for dressage. It works almost as good and it is great on trails because I can snap saddle bags behind my legs. Wow. What I rant I just made! Did I awnser all of your questions? You want a dressage right?

I would prefer dressage, just because that's what I'm used to. However, I am starting to consider getting an AP saddle. My legs are SUPER short so some dressage saddles are just too long for me, for example the saddle I ride in for lessons the ends of the leathers are about 1/2-1" past the flaps so I feel like I don't have as much leg as I could (if that makes sense). I know an AP saddle won't fix this completely but it might be better.

mine has a pretty deep seat. Here is a picture if you can see from it.... it might be hard to see. I can still do xc in it but it is a pretty handy saddle (my first). Do you do dressage or event?

It looks like a nice saddle. I do dressage, although its more pleasure riding than anything. I also trail ride a lot, so it has to be good for that as well. I don't really show, and I probably won't be able to afford to show for a long time.

I will look into Wintec saddles for sure now. It might be a while before I have the money to buy a saddle so I will see if I can find one in decent used condition. After all, I will always take the chance to save some money!

If you do trails a lot I would get an AP they are also usually cheaper. Mine was 500. If you can find someone in your area that will let you sit in theirs that would be a great thing to do. Then you know if you like the feel. You might have to get used to a less straight flap but it truely is comfy. I won't lie mine has impressions where my butt cheeks sit. Extra comfy. I wouldn't get a wintec girth though. So hard to tighten! (there is no elastic, it's all lies ) I really hope this helped!

It was very helpful, I appreciate all the advice. They certainly do look comfy in the pictures, so I'm glad to hear that they are as comfortable as they look.
