I dont know what type of riding you will be doing; however I have decided not to use the aussie pad that came with my saddle. I have pretty hilly terrain to ride in and the pad fit so perfectly under my saddle, people though I was not using a pad. Anyhow going up and down hills that darn pad slipped back under the saddle several inches.
I bought a close contact dressage pad from Padded Ponies(a small business ran by two women in Chicago). I used it when we went camping in the mountians...very steep terrain again. No slippage. Sure its a little short but it caused no issues.

I have two from DownUnder. One has never been used. The other has only be rode with a few times. It is this type
