Washing SMB's?

I was given a set of SMB's, they're in great shape but pretty dirty. Their previous owner took them off the horse the last time she rode, threw them in a tack box and there they sat. It's been several years since they were last used and they seem pretty stiff compared to the new ones I just bought.

Is there any way to wash these up? I'm giving them to someone else, the previous owner meant well but warmblood/draft sized boots just aren't going to fit on my 14.2hh horse and although I'm giving them away, I personally would feel awful to hand over stiff, filthy boots.

I just washed mine last week. Came out great. I just did up the velcro and ran them thru with a load of rags so that the rages rubbed on them in the washer. Mine were also really dirty, so I turned them inside out, did the velcro again, and ran them thru a second time. Just don't put them in the dryer.
