Western boots/ English saddle?

I ride Western and I have an old English saddle that I'm getting the billets replaced on so I can use it. I have Western boots (Rod Patricks $125) and boot cut jeans (Ariats $75). One of my concerns is that the boot edge will keep getting caught in the flap. I sat in the saddle yesterday just to see how it feels and my boot kept getting stuck. I also don't know if my boots will stick way out in the back with my jeans on from the stirrups making my heels go quite a bit down.

I don't want to waste money or spend more than we have to, so what should I do? Should I try and find a pair of cheap paddock boots and half chaps and tuck jeans into that? Or should I just ride with my Western boots? Thanks!

(Sorry if this isn't in the right section, I didn't really know where else to put it)

I used to wear cowboy boots and neoprene half-chaps with jeans. The neoprene was stretchy enough to zip up and still be comfortable. They only cost me about $20.

The thing about my boots is that there is some space between my leg and the boot so I don't know if it'd fit right.

My boots have space too, they are supposed to so you can tuck your pants in. I would tuck my jeans in and then kind of wrap the shaft of the boot against me so it would lay more flatly. Then I would put my half-chaps on.
