western bridle

hi can I convert an english bridle to a western bridle by removing the nose band? Can a western birdle have a throat lash and a brow band?

A lot of western bridles have browbands and throat latches, and some are slip ears.

If you aren't showing, then there is no reason why you can't use an english headstall with a western bit and/or other western tack. It will never look like a western bridle because the style is different and it attaches differently to the bit but that doesn't really matter much.

As for western bridles having a browband and throatlatch, that's the only kind I use. There are several other styles including one ear and straight bridles, but I stick with the ones that have browbands.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/
