Western half chaps

Can anyone recommend a good pair? I'm having a difficult time finding something without fringes but not English looking. Primarily just for trail/pleasure riding.

What do you mean not english looking? Would a brown suede half-chap be okay? If you're just trail riding, you don't need to worry about looks.

I like these Ariats but I can't find them anywhere...beginning to think they are no longer made...?

Huh, learn something new every day. I never knew that they even made western half chaps. I always kind of thought that the purpose of english half chaps was to keep you from getting your leg pinched by the thin stirrup leather when you weren't wearing tall boots. That's not an issue in western saddles so you really wouldn't even need them except just for the look.

Though my country-fied mind keeps insisting that "western half chap" = "chink"

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/
