Western Saddle Brands/Quality??

Ok so I'm new to everything and am looking for a western saddle. The problem is that I have people left and right trying to sell me their saddle but to be honest, I have NO CLUE what to look for? What are some good brands? What things do I look at that will let me know it was made good? I have heard of the leather tearing on poorly made ones and I dont want something thats going to fall apart after I buy it?

For right now I'm going to be just trail riding and learning on it so.. And the horse is completely broke already so Im not worried about him flippin upside down and breaking the tree.. Thank you for your time.

Well, you can't go wrong usually with a Circle Y or Billy Cook.
That said, I really like my Courts saddle and my next saddle will probably be a Big Horn (unless I an pick up a Billy Cook or Circle Y cheap). You want to check the tree make sure it isn't cracked or warped, look for good quality thick leather that is supple not stiff. I like my saddle double stitched. Make sure the fleece is good (some of that stuff sheds like crazy). And also it needs to fit your horse.

So in lies the madness, the pursuit of the impossible in the face of the complete assurance that you will fail, and yet still you chase.

There are hundreds of good brands and at least 4x that many that are poor. Best bet is to come on the forum with pics and the brand.

Avoid at all costs, Asian or Mexican imports or no brand name saddles - keep to American made for the best quality.

I'm not arguing with you, I'm just explaining why I'm right.

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

It's not always what you say but what they hear.
