So, I'm finally to a place in my life where I can get/save up to get Lacey a new saddle pad (which she needs) but I'm not sure what to get...
I'd like to spend under $60, but at the same time, I want to get something quality that will hold up for hours of riding and that maybe I'll be able to have for years.
I know Reinsman and 5 star are good brands, but they're also so pricey. I'm not sure if I could really get something of similarly good quality for cheaper if I look around?
And then, Lacey is getting older and she does have somewhat of a dip in her back, but I don't think it's precisely a "swayback" yet... I know when her topline isn't as great as it is right now, she does have what a lot of people would term a "swayback", however, where she's living right now is going to be her home for at least the next year and all the hills have really been building up her back. Basically, I'm not sure if getting a "swayback" pad would be a good thing... I'm not really considering one but maybe I should be?
Also, 5 star pads all appear to be wool? I'm not sure how I feel about a wool pad. Won't that make her even hotter in the summer when she has to be saddled for most of the day?
Also, I need to get a thinner pad, less than an inch, because my saddle fits well but it basically fits like a glove (ie, not much room between her and it).
So what's the best? Or the medium-ist?
