Heres the beast: http://i53.tinypic.com/2ch44l0.jpg

My friend asked me to sell it for her, she had just been keeping it in her spare room after she sold her horses. She's an older lady (only mildy sane) and couldn't recall any details about the saddle.

Mind you I have remarkable abilities to sell english saddles, but am like a cat in a bag when it comes to western.

Heres what I know:
15" Seat
FQHB
Slight discoloration on top of fenders both sides.
Flocking is in okay shape, has some fluff, and clean.
Can't find a makers mark, but has 1200 on back skirt.
I think its fiberglass tree, it has almost a basket weave texture.

It has two features that I am not accustomed to seeing in normal run of the mill saddles, and was hoping that maybe they are distinguishing characteristics.

Can someone offer me answers to these questions:
1. What kind of saddle is it? Show maybe?
2. Estimated Age
3. What should I price it at
4. what should I be realistic about getting.

Thank you!

.

I had one like that 4-5 years ago, not in as good of shape.

When I sold it I could only get 125.00, based on the better condition that one might go for 175.00 to 200.00

I see a lot of that style around, for sale every so often, built in the 70's, back then many Trails Saddles were built like that.

It's possible that the tree is wood covered in fiberglass. That is an OK tree. The stitching is just a bling thing from the 70's and the white lacing is called Buck Stitching.

Without a name on it, I would think in the $200-$250 range - tops.

I don't believe it is an old reining saddle but just a trail saddle.
