Western saddle size

I ride in a 17" english saddle. I'm looking at an Abetta endurance saddle. Would a 15" fit me? I remember hearing the difference is roughly 2", but wanted to double check before I buy one.

Yes, roughly two inches. Not all saddles fit the same though. I tried several 16" western saddles before I found the one that felt right for me.

Go and sit in it to make sure, and happy saddle shopping!

The best way is to go and actually try them out. I ride in a 16" in one of the Billy Cook's (can't remember which one), my trail saddle was a 15" and my barrel saddle is a 14"...lol. I'm all over the map, but it's personal preference and what feels good and fits good for you.

This may have to be a trial-by-fire situation. I'd be buying it on ebay. I asked around and called around, but no one in this area has abetta saddles. It's frustrating to say the least.

I used 15" Western. With English I should go with 18" (because of the legs), but 17" was fitting my butt (not legs) just fine.

.

If it is the standard Abetta without the super cushion seat, then a 15" should work as the standard models do not have a lot of padding to make it feel small, plus they use the Ralide Tree which is very consistent in sizing.

.

May all your Trails be happy and safe ones
