    Western Saddle Size

How much difference does 1" in a seat make? I've always ridden in a 15" western saddle (I'm 5'0" and 118 pounds). But finding a quality show saddle is much more difficult for that size. All the ones I like seem to be 16" and don't have a 15" option. I guess I'm more worried about stirrup length than the seat since I'm so short. There is an awesome used saddle for sale and it is 16". I would hate to get it and find out it is just too big for me!

    .

1" can make a difference, the position a larger seat size puts you in can make you uncomfortable and also change the balance you have.

The stirrup length generally has the same range of adjustment in a 15" and 16" seat

IMO you would swim in a 16".
