what is this: an Australian saddle?

I bought this off Craigslist for my daughter. I wish I would have taken a 'before' photo. It was dirty (clearly stored in a barn), and dry, but several round of cleaning, conditioning and oil has restored it quite well.

It has no makers mark. I think it is technically an Australian saddle since I know of no other saddle with an overgirth. What would you call it? An Aussie/English all purpose? Or Aussie jumping saddle?

What ever it is, my daughter is thrilled! She feels totally secure in it and was trotting our OTTB all around the arena with a big smile on her face.

Curious! As an Aussie, I've never seen one - our AP and jump saddles are the same as everyone else's. It has poley-like kneerolls and rings on the cantle. Looks like some crossbreed saddle! I'd call it a stock saddle that's been designed for people used to English.

Maybe some kind of endurance saddle?

My guess is a military or endurance saddle. Doesn't look Aussie at all to me. Is it really light? If so, my vote's for an endurance saddle. Is it a monoflap or does it have the usual 2-flaps?

It weighs about the same as any other English saddle (albeit a bit lighter than my dressage saddle). It does have two flaps, with Aussie rigging.

Anyone else know what this might be?

Whatever it is I would like one. So if you find out where to get another let me know. That is exactly what I've been looking for.

Hahaha it's a polo saddle, we used to play polo-x in them, the leg roll stops you from tipping forward too much when your reaching for the ball

Oops forgot to say....it's like a stock saddle but lighter.....kind of a cross between a stock and an English saddle:)

That would make sense! Where are you? Could you point me to a maker? Or pictures of others?
