What Brand Is This Saddle?

A friend had given my mum this saddle a little while ago when we got our rescue; Nelly. It's on the oldish side, real leather, and it appears to be a gaming saddle. But we couldn't find a brand or stamp on it anywhere.

I cannot tell from the photo. It looks like a saddle from the 50's. Looks like a good saddle and decent fit. I like it! I don't think it's gaming. Probably a trail/all round.

Well, I was told by the previous owners that it was gaming. But I don't even know what make it is so, what would I know?

Yeah, maybe. The swells look like they'd help hold you in. The horn is not a barrel type, and is a bit delicate for roping. So what game would it be for?

The latigo looks a bit dry, be sure it isn't cracked, 'cause if it is it could tear at the worst time.

The latigos have been changed since the first picture was taken, I'm not sure if you can tell in the third picture, but they're nylon now.

I'd say a roping saddle, some saddles have big thick horns and some have smaller ones. Depends on the brand.

There is a thread around here talking about how to find what brand saddle you have. There are certain spot where to look to find a logo or name. Try under the flaps and give your saddle a thorough look to find anything.

I am going to throw in my two pennys worth.
I am a firm believer if the saddle maker does not put his stamp on the saddle, then I would treat it as suspect untill proven otherwise. Imported saddles and good looking ones have been around for a number of years. However as I found out the hard way the wrong saddle can hurt the horse and you. The reputation of the saddle maker to me is everything now. So continue to check it out. Check the tree

Thanks. It seems like a nice saddle. It fits my standardbred quite nicely.
