What Cinch should I get?

I am very interested in all of these cinches.
I normally use a smart cinch but I heard about these designs, and I really would like to get one.
I barrel race, but I will use it for everything.
My horse is girthy, and touchy so I want to get something that is comfortable for her.
If anyone could help me out and give me some good opinions about these cinchs I would appreciate it.

I like this one. I think fleece is the most comfortable for the horse.

I like the mohair girth (the second one you posted) because it tends to follow the horse's form well and wicks away sweat pretty well. I've got one in a dressage style for my horses.

I don't like the first one's material as well, but the fleece one would be my second choice.

when i used fleece on my horse i caused her to sweat more. and it caused gall more easy than the string type girths. but thats just my experience.

No way on the 1st one. I have heard stories about the outer padding rolling and the center part galling a horse badly. Mohair would be my choice

I would choose the last girth. The second one, (mohair) I would stay away from. They are easy on your horse in that they dont hold in heat, making your horse a little cooler, but they are all individual strands, and one can stretch out more then the next strand, making the pressure uneven on your horse, and you wouldnt have full contact of your girth on your horse..making your saddle more likely to slip. I use a smartcintch, and LOVE it! my saddle is stuck in place on my mare great. She too is very touchy, but doesnt mind it at all.

I use this type of girth on my horses and I really like it. I have found that it is less likely to gall even when it is older and dirty. Strand cinches are great but you really have to make sure and keep them from getting dirty and stiff because that's when they will gall.

smrobs: I'd really like one of those, do they only come in 26"? Is that really the Prof. Choice site (ie safe to give them cc #) I'd rather do PayPal at an unfamiliar place.

I think you can find other sizes if you find them in regular tack stores. I have a 28 that I use commonly.

I don't like Mohairs either... they make me nervous for some reason. I like fleece the most. Nice and soft for your horse's belly.

I'm so busy, I don't know if I've found a rope... or lost my horse...
