I went to an auction awhile back (some business going out of sale and selling off it's stock), and picked up some new saddles. The one roper saddle, however, just didn't work out, so I've decided to sell it. Just not sure how much to ask for it...
On the seat it has a metal plate that says Western Saddlery, it's a 15" seat and has Full Quarter Horse Bars.
Well, it's brand new... the leather isn't even broken in yet. It's only been on two of my horses long enough for me to determine that it didn't fit and/or I didn't like it.
As for retail price... I have no idea. I tried looking up Western Saddlery, but couldn't find much on it (it seems to be related to a leather company that happens to make saddles to order.). Like I said, I just picked it up at the auction some tack shop held.
It looks super nice, however, now that it is technically 'used' the price you'll be able to see it at has gone down significantly (like driving a new car off the lot). Here's a link of roping saddles at retail: Roping Saddles, Team Roping Saddle, Calf Roping Saddles.
I'd say you could get $400-$500 for it.
Nice looking saddle, but I NEVER heard about the saddlery (and never seen it on Internet either). Do you know how much that shop asked originally (before they went out of business)?

Actually, I'd never even heard about the shop before it went out of business.
And the auction was kind of a mess... they had it in the basement of a bar, so they had to be done by 9... when they realized that the saddles were going too slow, they basically just did a buyer's choice thing. So they didn't really go into detail on each individual saddle. :/

I hope you got a really good deal on it. I wish I could try it out (I really like the look of it), but you are way too far from me. Good luck on selling it! (you can try tacktrader.com - I got number of responses when I posted some stuff there).
I can't imagine getting anything lower then 650 for that. It is a nice looking saddle, and just because you set it on your horse to find it didnt fit does NOT mean it is used. There is NOTHING wrong with it. I would say 700 OBO.
