What helmet should I wear?

I am going to try out horses next week in FL, and I don't know what helmet I should use. I have my CO Hampton Hat for showing, and it is alot nicer! Then I have my Troxel schooling helmet, it is black, but it is kinda scratched up, so which should I use?

As long as it is ASE certified... it doesnt matter... unless you are going for looks.

In FL right now, I'd go with a vented schooling helmet. It's hot out there right now, and humid.

yea I live here, definitely go with the vented, anyone who rides here would completely understand y you would be wearing the vented schooling helmet. Most people I know any way only wear the nice helmets when theyre showing, and wears the schooling helmets all the rest of the time.

I'm from FL & I even show in my schooling helmet, I just stick a velvet cover over the top of it.

Agreed. Are you trying to make an impression on the sellers?
Personally, as a seller, as long as the client comes well dressed with appropriate clothing (boots with heel, helmet) I'm good to go.

As long as it is a certified helmet, you are just fine. I wouldn't make a set decision on a certain helmet until you actually try a few. Chances are it might not fit you the way you wish it did.

Go out to your local tack store and try out a few that are within your price range

Technically it doesn't matter since they're both approved. I personally try to look my best and more professional when I go to another barn (but that's just me). I would choose the CO but be thinking about my much cooler troxel. :) so which would you rather? Look more professional or be more comfortable?

Just out of curiosity... do people really care what kind of helmet you wear?
