Question What kind of Hackamore???

I want to get a hackmore for my QH gelding, but I have no idea what type to get. We ride western and do a lot a trial rides. He's very good with a bit, but I would like to give him occasional breaks from it. Should I even get a hackamore?

My old gelding rode very well in a rawhide/leather bosal, but you do need to know how to 'operate' a hackamore of this type, as they are not the same as a mechanical hack or sidepull or little s.

OR...leave him in the bit if he is doing good...trust me, its only bothering you.

Good luck
