What type of tack trunk do you use?

I need to get a tack trunk for show season and I was wondering what you guys use for one. I know some people use tack trunks that are meant to be tack trunks (hope it makes sense) and some people use just stuff that you'd put stuff in the garage in. (like a Craftsmen container) I was wondering what you used, where you got it, and how much it was.

Thanks!
HJG

I use a big canvas duffel bag with handles and chuck everything in there except my saddles. Works great :]

I have a "normal" tack trunk. I bought i used for $5. It was in the hay loft of our friends barn and needed work. My dad and I put some work into it. We painted it and stenciled a horse and my name on the top of it. It's like normal tack trunk size. I love so much, everything fits in it, and of course it's special to me. lol good luck finding a tack trunk!

i got a "tack trunk" from Home Depot that I absolutely love! It's not as fancy as some of the really nice wood ones out there but instead of paying $1000 it was only $70! Plus, it's much much lighter, has a pull out handle and wheels so it's easy to transport. it has a nice "grooming box" that fits in and locks (although the lock stopped working a while ago). It's big enough that it fits all of my show stuff except for my saddle. And other then the lock it's very durable. I went to about 10 shows last year plus about 5 or 6 weeks of away shows and it's still in great shape. I'm a huge fan!

OMG upnover! I have that EXACT tack trunk. Haha. I also love mine and it is super easy to lug around. I recommend getting a combo lock for it, because I tend to lose keys so I stopped locking it with the locks that it has on it and started using a combo lock. Sure enough, I lost both keys so I'm glad I did that. I highly recommend this trunk as well.

I love my bag as it doesn't break if it gets dropped or stepped on, and it's easy to throw up into the tray of a ute or similar. It can also be washed :]

UpnOver! SO COOL! I love your tack trunk! I need to get something like that.

Right now I have a ginormous wooden tack box, that cannot leave the premesis - so when I do show, I have to load up the trailers tack room with everything indavidually - which is a pain in the patunkee.

I have to go to Home Depot and look into one of those!

I love your tack trunk upnover! I'm gonna have to go get me one. IrishRider I'd probably loose both keys too.

Thanks to everyone who replied!

I dont have a tack trunk I bought one of those rolling saddle racks. It carries my saddle and all other tack plus at shows I can hang my clothes on it as well.
