Do you suppose it's just supposed to be a novelty item?

One can only hope!

If you want to see some truly scary bits, check out this site: Horse Bits, Walking Horse Bits, Custom Horse Bits, Grissom Bits, Tail Brace, Tennessee, Shobitz

All of their bits appear to be made with some sort of chain mouthpiece, and one even uses the kind of chain you see on swings...or tie your dog up with...

Yes, most of their bits are made of the chain, however, they do have the capabilities to make other types of bits. I have contacted them about making a ported draft grazing bit and their prices are very reasonable plus their bits that aren't just vicious are pretty darn good quality.

I am not condoning the fact that they make them but they wouldn't if people didn't buy them.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

The only use for that bit is to take it apart and use it to screw the morons who made it to the wall.

Jeesh =/ I can just see someone with insensitive hands and no brain cells getting ahold of that bit and ripping a poor 3 year olds mouth off. Let's start em' the right way guys, huh?

Good lord.

I believe I know how it works...
You simply show it to the horse, and you never have to use a bit again..

Okay, this cracked me up. Let's hope that's how it's used.
