What's more comfortable on flats - dressage flap or forward flap

My friend wants to start riding English, and I'm helping her find a saddle. She has only ridden Western before. I know what I like, but I need to be careful and try to help her get what will work best for her, not me

She will be riding arena flatwork and flat trails with few obstacles. She wants to feel secure and comfortable. She has short legs, and her horse is medium/wide to wide.

Any suggestions or personal experience that might help guide us towards a more VSD-type flap with straighter leg-position or a more A/P flap with more forward leg-position?

My riding style, body type, and the terrain I ride is very different from what she'll be doing, so I'm little help to her on this.

Personally when I first switched from Western to english I was thrown right into a jumping saddle. Luckily I was young and stubborn so I just did as I was told. I know for me when it comes to overall comfort, I LOVE my wintec all purpose for "hanging out" and flat work. I have a courbette dressage saddle that is my "cadillac" saddle. I feel like it has a lot more to it and really "holds me in" I use this one for training when I am with a new horse, just because I feel safest and have the best leg position/ contact. I still ride western also, but figure my opinion on that isn't relevant to this convo lol! :)
