Will latigo leather stain my horse?

    Hi, Very new here.
I am trying to find a western breast collar for my mostly white horse.
Has anybody had a problem with the latigo lining staining their horse?
Or, should I look for a breast collar without the latigo lining?
    Thanks!

Hi RedCloud, welcome to the forum!

I rode a completely "white" (in saying white he was faded from grey with age) arabian gelding for YEARS. I never had an issue with any of my tack staining him. It didn't matter how good or bad quality the leather was, even if he sweat a lot and it did leave a little color on him it wasn't anything that would hose right off with just some water.

Yes, there's a good chance it will stain your horse. But, it can also depend on the quality of the leather and the process. Latigo is very good for enduring the effects of sweat.
