So I got a new saddle this weekend because she got wider and my old one was too narrow. I found a wider Courbette magic for a really good price used at a local tack shop, and it seemed to fit when I put it on her back with no pad or girth. After I tacked up though, it seemed a little tight. I rode in it and I could tell it was pinching a bit but she didn't seem to have any pain (she was happy as a clam, better behaved than she has been for a long time). I talked to my coach after and she said I should ride in it a few more times and see. She also said that it will fit her better once we put the horses out in the fields(which will be soon) because she will lose all the weight she's put on from being stuck in the pastures with little room to run around all winter. I think she is right, but I am still a little worried that it is going to start hurting her. The thing is, I can't ride in it a few more times if I want to get a full refund, and I can't afford to just keep it then sell it again later and get a new one. I want to keep it, but I am really paranoid now because I don't want to hurt my horse again with a saddle that doesn't fit(it took a while for me to notice that it was hurting her).
I don't know what to do. :-(
