Wintec 250 AP saddle

How much would you pay for one? It's in great condition, I saw/rode in it yesterday. It comes with stirrups leathers/irons, quilted AP pad (very clean), girth and green saddle storage bag with shoulder strap. She's asking $300 OBO.

It's a friend of Spree's owners, so I don't want to offer something too low and offend her.

I'm going to ride in it for longer tomorrow and take pictures of how it fits Spree.

That's a very good price, as long as it fits well.

Compared to the POS saddle I've been riding in, it was like my butt was sitting on a cloud. Ahhhh...

I am unsure about the saddle's fit on her withers, and I just read online that you should be able to fit no more than 4 stacked fingers in that space. 4's probably about where it sat on her when I wasn't in the saddle.

Also, I'm curious about the way it fits ME. I'm a small girl but with a big booty, and I noticed that the sides of my butt felt like they were flopping off the side a bit. Nothing distracting or uncomfortable, but I didn't notice it with the other saddle I've been riding in.

Heh, that's why I don't own a Wintec: I have wide hips and I always feel like I'm riding a rail. They a good-quality synthetics though, and they do work for a lot of people.

I have a Wintec saddle that I use for breaking horses. Great saddle to have. I looked up online to see how much they are selling for there. Most of your older models of wintec saddles sell for about 500.00 brand new.
I find 300.00 to be a bit steep for what it is. I found one on eBay for $100 and it's in great condition. You might want to consider it.

That saddle right now sells for 260.00 so no for sure it's not a good deal.

Inform her about what you saw online and how much it sells for brand new and I would offer $100.00 and if she says no then tell her you'll go get the one you saw online.

Thanks guys; I'll try the tactic with quoting what I found online. Here's a picture of me in the saddle from the other night; I'll get more soon. She could only take one before my camera's battery died.

That eBay deal for $100 is great deal, and yes they do sell for $269 new, but that's without all of the fittings (which this one has.) Maybe I'll offer her $150 and go from there.

Sorry, but $300 for USED wintec 250 is wa-a-ay too much. I'd say $200 the most (with all extras - pad, irons, etc.)

That is a good point, something I didn't even think to check. Does your friend sell her fittings with the saddle? Not sure if I am in a position to say this but I am quite disgusted that your "friend" is trying to rip you off that much by selling you a used saddle a lot more than what it actually costs brand new. I wouldn't even make an offer. If she
Believes that her saddle is worth 300.00 I don't know that she would say yes to 150.00

There will always be those saddles come up on eBay and obviously will be better priced than what you are being offered and you won't be offending her.
