When I tried out my new horse, I rode in his previously owner's Wintec western saddle. I liked it allright...I usually ride English but since I was mainly going to use him for hacking around I thougt I might like a Western.

Does anyone else use the Wintec or the Wintec synthetic western saddle? It fit him really well, and the best prices I have found for one are online so I wont be buying totally blind :)

My only thing I didnt like was the one I tried out was all black, and by the end of the day my butt was soo hot! LOL. So I will for sure be getting a brown one lol.

I personally like half leather, half senthetic saddles. The senthetic ones, IMO, tend to be a little flimsy...Some people like them. They are very light, but hard to clean.

My sister has a Wintec syntetic Western, and she loves it. It's pretty comfy, and she's never had trouble cleaning it. It's held up really well. She's had it for probably around 4 years, riding almost daily from March through October as the weather permits, and it looks good as new. It takes me a little getting used to when I ride in it, since her horse is about twice as wide as mine, lol. Nothing wrong with the saddle, just that my rear end resists conforming to a wider horse. A friend of mine has had the brown Wintec for who knows how long (garsh, at least 8 years, I guess), and it looks like new when it's clean. I have an Abetta that has held up really well for around 6 years (again, looks brand new) under a similar workload that I also find pretty comfy, but, second only to the fit of the saddle on the horse is the fit of the saddle on you.

Happy saddle hunting! :D

Oh, Wintec pretty recently came out with a cleaner for their saddle material. I might get some for my sis, I'm curious as to whether or not it works better than a wet sponge (which works doggone good!)

I say big NO to any Wintec western after my saddle broke after just 2 years of mild riding throwing me over my horse neck. It also fit my both horses pretty badly.

Personally I'd look into Abetta instead.
