Wintec Western Saddles

I was wondering about where wintec gets their western saddle trees. They are a predominantly english company. I wouldn't think they would make their own trees. I know that's a crazy question haha. Also, since bates and wintec are the same company and a lot of bates saddles you can get in the wintec variety, will bates ever make a western saddle? They would be so nice!

Unusual question, and not one I've ever thought about.

Why not contact Wintec and ask them?

Western Wintec is made in Vietnam from what I was told. And from my experience it's quite a junk (my saddle tree broke causing an accident, my friend's tree split into 2 halves under him).

Holy moley, Val! I knew they weren't the same quality as Wintec's English saddles, but didn't know they were actually crappy saddles!

I flew over my horse's head when the tree broke and the saddle stood up vertical (no kidding) sending me forward. Thank God was my qh (that is generally on lazy side, so she stopped and started to graze), not my hot spooky paint! Saddle was just 2 years old.

My friend said his broke apart right in middle, so he felt like those halves are sliding down off the horse. Was lots of fun for him to walk 2 mile back to his house dragging the horse and the saddle!

The reason I got mine in 1st place is because the reviews for english Wintec are so good (and I did ride in english one and it's a nice saddle for the price). Obviously Western is made differently though.

I have a wintec western and my friend has several and has had them forever. They haven't had any problems at all.

The lesson barn I volunteer at has a bunch of them and I really don't like them, but they are good for the lessons and are pretty much the only new saddle the barn can afford. I have to admit I am biased because I have owned nothing but leather and I quite enjoy my Billy Cook.

Two of our saddles are Wintec Western All Rounders that we've had for almost 10 years and have never had a problem with either.
