Angry Winter rant!

Halloween is monday(still don't have a costume for my son!) and as I sit here right now the snow is coming down like crazy We are expected to get 8-14" before tomorrow morning. So now I can't go pick up the stubben I'm buying and try it on my horse because my tires are bald(maybe I should be using the money I'm spending on the stubben for tires, but who could pass up a $200 great condition stubben!) So the freaking snow has ruined my day!

Two weeks ago I ordered my old boy a new heavy weight turn out blanket, He had been using the same one for about 7 years and last year it stopped being waterproof so I got him a new one thinking I'd have plenty of time before he would need it! I guess I was wrong!
Here is a pic of him modeling his blanket on monday(when I still thought it would be a while before he would use it!

So I'm glad I didn't put off ordering the blanket, I almost did because I didn't really have the extra $90 to spend, It was normally $100, so figured might as well.

I'm sorry to hear you guys are already getting snow. Especially 8 to 14 inches! I will probably do a rant myself when we get snow here in Iowa. And I would have bought the saddle too lol I love Stubben!

I have some touring skis, skins and touring boots. Need me to skin from Canuckistan down, pick up the saddle and what ever else you and skin over to your house? All I ask for in return is a spot to dry my socks and a coffee and then I'll be off home again.

Second thoughts, I could just skijor down with sammy......shouldn't take me more then a few weeks to get there

I have so much empathy for you!! Snow this early in the season would put me over the edge...but then not to go pick up a great Stubben because of it would force me to lace up my boots and snow shoes and trek out for my new saddle.

At least your boy is warm in his new blanket.

I showed my significant other this before and after pic of the show and his jaw dropped to the floor! I am very curious to how much snow you guys ended up getting! As for iowa.....we are out of liquid propane because the owner of the gas company said we had too small of a propane tank and his delivery guy didn't like coming to our house. So its 50 degrees in the house and no hot water. Until Monday! Guess who is going to file a complaint to the better business bureau! Wishing you and your fuzzy friends a good early winter! Keep warm!

I believe we had over a foot when I took my son and dog out to play about 5:30/6:00

It's dark now and I have no idea how much is out there, but it's still coming down. I poked my head out the door to take a few more pictures now(almost 10PM) My boyfriend left for work at 3am and still isn't home, I told him last night he should call out, but does he ever listen to me!

He;s never going to make it in the driveway when he gets home!

^^ looks like a Fernie dump of snow! We're waiting for our first big dump of the season. Nov 18th last year we got 2.5 feet over night. We now own a snowblower. Major snow falls we had for winter are as follows
Nov 18th 75cm
Dec 12th 60cm
Dec 16th 20cm
Dec 20th 34cm
Jan don't know date 64cm
Jan don't know date 47cm

You can see the pattern.... got them skis waxed yet ;D

You should look on the up side, you don't have to mow the lawn next weekend now

Just posting to let you know, you better have a good shovel. Weather man here just said you are getting 25 km of snow. Either we will see you in the late summer some time or as the old saying goes "little boys who lie, grow up to be weathermen" is ring true.
