wool rugs

What does everyone think of wool rugs. I think they look really nice and would be good for my horse to wear to shows and competitions. My only query is are they difficult to keep clean? And do they get grass and grass seeds stuck in them?

I use them for warmth. And in order to keep it as clean as possible I've got a cotton rug underneath and on top. And at night/in rain theres a waterproof doona rug over all that.
I havnt had any grass seeds in them so far, though we don't have alot of seedy kind of grass here/much grass at all in winter. I don't think they would be much of a magnet for seeds though, the one I have it doesnt seem like they'd stick well..

My experience with them is: DO NOT DROP THEM! Lol.
They get dirty quick if you're not careful and are pretty hard to clean cause things get stuck in them.
Other than that they are great to have.
