    I think backwards is better, you don't accelerate fast enough for them to fall forwards, and if you break fast, they bump their rump not head/shoulders :)

    I would say that the slant is still better, so they can transfer weight accordingly if you break too quickly.

    I have never used a slant and we usually use a stock trailer. Dumas is always backwards!** ** Twister rides like he was in a slant.*
