I bought a biothane bridle several years ago. I have used it alot! I love it!
We bought a new mare and she needed a bridle so I got online and found a place that sells them. I just got the new bridle in and it looks like I am going to like it even more..
The first bridle I bought was just a regular bridle, with a brow band. I got it in a leather colored brown. I do nothing but trailride so hubby convinced me I needed a cavison, I had always used a halter under the bridle, but didn't like the look. So I ordered a cavison (sp) and it works great.
This new bridle, well..... I got online and looked at the photos and couldn't find exactly what I had already, so I called the place and ordered something new... at least something I had never seen or heard of..
You order the headstall. It is basically like a halter/cavison combo.. it has a brow band and a nose band with a ring underneath like a halter, it snaps together at the jaw like a halter. You can put this on and use it like a halter while you trailer your horse. Then when you get ready to ride, you put the bridle piece on.. it has the bit attached and just has a one piece going up and around/over the poll at the ear. There is a little "button" that snaps everything together at the top between the ears. (I know they make "trail" bridles but I don't like the ones that the bit is attached w/snaps which you can take off/on)
I just got it in yesterday, and I had some surgery last week so I am off riding for a couple more weeks, but I can't wait to use it. I also purchases the reins that match, they are biothane also..
I love how the biothane feels, it lasts and lasts and looks so good. I just wanted to share my thoughts....
