Like most things probably the way you use it is what will determine if its good or bad. I have never used anything like that but just looking at it, I would guess that you would want to have pretty soft hands and only be using one rein at a time. It looks as though it could, if abused, give a pretty bad bit of rope burn to the horse’s jaw, and if you hauled back on both reins probably clamp down on the horse’s muzzle pretty hard.

Just a little advice about bitless bridles..If you're really looking for a bitless bridle, i would suggest putting a little bit more money and buy a good one like the Nurtural Bitless Bridle or Dr. Cook's Bitless Bridle... The horse will be much more comfortable and to tell the truth i have ridden in a rope bitless bridle before and after a while it hurts the horse's face you could see marks in the horse's hair where the rope was touching
bsms likes this.
