Honestly I've sat in both a brand new BC (TX made) and a brand new Tex Tan side by side at a tack shop and the Tex Tax was way more comfortable to me, hands down. I'm not saying that the BC was bad because when I was shopping, I was actually eyeballing the BC because it was a little cheaper than the Tex Tan, but sitting in both is all it took for me to make up my mind. Unfortunately the Tex Tan ended up not fitting my horse so I had to sell it, but to this day, I've never sat in a more comfortable barrel saddle (of the ones I've tried....I'm sure there are other very comfy ones :) ) Now that I know my mare requires a pretty wide tree, I'm curious to try a Circle Y some time. They seem to run wider from what I've seen. I ride in a Rider's Choice brand barrel saddle now which is a nice little saddle, but I also ride in a Simco trail saddle and it's way more comfy. :) But yea, for what you'll have to spend to repair the damaged one, I wouldn't spend more than $200 on it if that. The first one is nice but you can find them on ebay in that shape or better for $400-500 all day long.

You can find used BC from OK in the $500-700 range. There's one on eBay right now, buy it now for $520 I just saw it yesterday. My friend bought hers for $600 used at the local tack shop. There older but still in great shape.

Also if you find an older BC from Texas, they're worth it. The new ones are crap. But the one I had fit every horse, was a very nice quality saddle, nothing cheap about it and it got used hard for years rode in everyday alot of times 2 or more horses a day and I got it used. It was made in 1993 though I found out when I traded it off.

The first one you posted is a feather racer (I have the same saddle) I paid $600 for it five years ago. Its an 04 model, wasn't used tons but broken in. If you can talk them down to 4600 is a good saddle. I will have to look at where mine was made, but I think it was the Sulpher OK, as opposed my my friends that was made in texas, mine is a MUCH better quality saddle.
