Old style cashel soft saddle

Due to this that and the other, I have not been able to get out on the trail for the last few days, and when that happens I ride at home in my small "ring". When I do I use my soft saddle, and thought I would do a review.

I have been trying to remember how long I've had it, 12 or 15 years at least. I do not ride hard in it, but over the years I have used it whenever I ride at home. My horse has never been sore with it, and I really love it. I do not get on from the ground, my horse is very tall, and I use a breastplate with it, but even with a big spook, it hardly moves and feels very stable. I limit my posting in it, mostly work on the sitting trot. Yes the side flaps are a bit thick, but I have gotten used to it, and because they are soft, they don't interfere. I always store it properly, and you can see a bit of cracking around the edges, but it has held up beautifully.
