Shell's Saddle Shack

Hi guys.
I'm technically new to these forums, even though I've been reading various threads on here for quite a while, but now I've finally registered.

I've been searching for the perfect used saddle for myself, for quite a while. I followed a tip on these forums, to check out Shell's Saddle Shack. And low and behold, she just got in the most absolutely perfect saddle for my needs.

The only issue now is that she does not take direct credit card payments. My mom (the one who will by paying), is not too keen on the idea of making such a substantial purchase without the protection of a credit card. We could do a paypal payment with a 3% service charge. But when paypal comes in as the middleman, it's not the same security for the buyer as doing a direct payment with credit card.

So basically what I'm asking of this community, is anyone who has done business with Michelle and Shell's Saddle Shack, to please come forward and leave a brief, honest review of your transaction.
See seems like a super nice lady, but I can't find any information or reviews of her business online.
We just want to cover all our basis and make sure we're not going to get screwed over.

If you'd prefer to send me a message instead of posting here, that'd be fine.

Thanks so much!!!

They are listed with the City of Norway, MI

City of Norway :: Business Directory-Alphabetical

If you use a CC via Paypal, you are protected.

If the business is verified, then you also have paypals guarantee, have her do the paypal request to you and you will see the verification before you enter your CC

Thanks for that info :)

And you're right, you still have some protections with Paypal, it's just if you have to cancel a direct credit card payment, because of a fault on the sellers end, the CC company will generally handle it with no liability to you.
I'm not sure exactly how it would work with paypal as the middleman (my mom knows and tried to explain it to me, but I was only half-listening), but my understanding is that if you were ever in the situation where you needed to cancel the transaction, it would be more complicated, because you'd be canceling the payment to Paypal, not to the seller and that might not work, since Paypal is not at fault.

But I will look into the paypal verification that you talked about. Thanks :)

I bought a saddle from her about 18 months ago. Actually traded some of mine plus payment via PP. Was very pleased with her. Still have the saddle, and the price was very good. You can usually compare pricing if you look for the same saddle on ebay, completed listings. Gives you a good idea of the current values. I frequently check to see what she has, and would do business with her again.

Great!
Thanks Franknbeans

Honestly, I'm not too worried about it, but then again, it's not my money lol

Just hoping to collect a couple of customer reviews to help put my mom's mind at ease.
I appreciate your input! :)
