I'm the new mom of a 15yo 17.2h Oldenburg Mare, Harper, who is a veteran champion hunter- YAY! - and am looking for a bit of advice.
She has an old tendon injury in her right front fetlock (just above) that causes her tendon sheath to swell. She is currently showing NO signs of lameness (thank goodness!). My vet and I are doing a corse of IRAP treatments on the tendon - I asked him if he preferred hard open front boots or polo wraps during training. He said he preferred polos - as they offered more "give" than a hard boot. Other people at my barn and one of my trainers suggested ProChoice SMBs - another said they liked the "back on track" SMBs.
I guess I'm wondering - do you all have any experience with either of these brands - and are they really a better option than polos? (btw: I'm good at wrapping polos so that's not an issue) - I've never had a horse who required specialized boots before. I want to do whats BEST for her, so we have a long, happy, comfortable career together.
Thank you SO MUCH for your help guys!!!
