I've been desperate to find a treeless saddle that would fit both my drafts - with different padding of course. One of them is flat as a board and as wide as my dining room table! No treed saddle ever fit. The other is very tall and narrow, but came to me very skinny, he's still rebuilding his topline. He's very narrow up top, but his shoulders get very wide, so treed saddles just wouldn't sit right.
So I researched all the treeless saddles I could, then I realized I'm broke and can't afford any of them xD
Then I found a group of treeless saddles that were more in my budget, $300ish. I settled on buying the Downunder Kimberly treeless saddle. I got a medium (they didn't have a small?) black one. I was very scared when I ordered it that it would be junk - most other treeless options at the same price range had terrible reviews, this one just had none.
I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised!!
I love it!! It's seat velcro's on and under the seat is the attachable strap for the stirrups. I was concerned about the stirrups putting too much pressure in one spot, so I put my arms underneath and had my friend put pressure on the stirrups and the saddle really does distribute the weight well. It has a little metal half tree, it didn't work for either of my horses so I just peeled it off :P The girth that came with it fit well for my two drafts. But the stirrup leathers boggled my mind, so I replaced them. I tried it on some of the smaller horses at my rescue, it fit moderately comfortably on the larger horses, but on the smaller horses it was just too long in the back.
Well sorry for blabbing on here are all the pics! I noticed there was only 1 stock photo online and nothing that showed how it really worked.
