Wintec interchangable gullet?

Hey there,

Has anyone ever used/owned a wintec easy-change gullet system? My sister has a wide mare(belgian/morgan cross) that is impossible to fit. We ride western/trails so she was looking into getting the stock saddle version. They are sorta pricey so we were looking everywhere for reviews before buying, but there is not much out there either way.

Any opinions/suggestions would be appreciated. If there are other options that have worked for you I would love to hear them. She wanted to stay away from treeless.. I have a bob marshall that slides like no other on her mare, even with a tacky pad and mohair cinch (no withers)-she is like sitting on a bowl of jell-o.

Thanks!

I've had wintecs, not the stock saddle version. I've had a couple of the wintec 2000, they are pretty comfortable. I would try to find a used one, the wintecs don't seem to hold their value well and are hard to resell in my experience.

Yes it works well for slight adjustments at the front of the saddle, it obviously changes nothing with the rest of the saddle. I thought it was very easy to change, sometimes take a bit of pulling to get those last outer screws lined back up just right to put the saddle back together, but the gullet itself is very easy to change.

Thank you. I am betting she would still have dry spots with this saddle. Good thing my sister is a good bareback rider ;)

I loved my Wintec stock saddle! Only got rid of it because I decided to start showing. It was very comfortable and once you change the gullet a time or two, it becomes very easy.

I love my wintec stock saddle. The gullets are easy to change. Easier then in my daughter's wintec all purpose. It is super comfy and secure. I do 10-15 mile rides in it and both my horse and I are usually ready for more.

The love for a horse is just as complicated as the love for another human being...If you never love a horse, you will never understand.
