*~!Horse Cookies!~*

So....

I found an awesome horse cookie recipe. Even my picky eaters love them!

Here it is! (I did steal this from another site, but made some alterations)

1 cup oatmeal
1 cup flour
1.5 TBS sugar
1.5 TBS salt
1(or so)cup diced carrots
2 TBS oil (any kind of cooking oil)
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup molasses

Mix together and make small balls. (Dough should be VERY, VERY sticky!) Bake at 350*F for 15 minutes of until brown on the edges.

**~**Enjoy**~**

I will try these! Everytime I attempt horse cookies they come up as a sticky pan of something...much be too much molasses.
Thanks for the recipe!

Awesome! I'll be making these tomorrow. I think we've already got most of those ingredients.

No problem! These don't come out all goody like other recipes do.

Sweet! Definitely going to make those for the Equestrian team meets and share with the other teams.

I couldn't help myself. I just happened to have all of the ingredients on hand and nothing else to do this evening.
Here is the finished first batch of the horse cookies. They smelled so good, I couldn't help but try one. A bit on the salty side but honestly...they are pretty tasty!

I would substitute the flour for whole wheat & the sugar for organic brown cane. But, yeah, I would eat those cookies you baked.

Is there anything you can substitute for the molasses?

Molasses is so good for humans (just seen that on the Doctors) but if you don't have molasses and you're looking to substitute maybe syrup?

I'll try those ingredients for my next batch. Thanks for the tip.

And a tip for those making these...grease the pan first. My first batch stuck like a booger to the pan.
