I've decided to tell Jesse Williams Ranch to "stick it" and I am going to volunteer exclusively at A-1 Equestrian :)

Reasons why:

1) They have a HUGE property and it is CLEAN.
2) They are the only ones in the area who have an official certification to host shows and clinics on the property.
3) The horses there are primariliy thoroughbreds and warmbloods (showing background) and a few lesson horses of various kinds.
4) IT IS VERY ORGANIZED.
5) The tack room is spotless and holds quality riding equipment.
6) The owner/trainer is part of the USEF and has a few articles on her winnings and showings all over the country.

Look for Katie Mcdaniel :)

7) The owner/trainer wants to give back to the community by having her business, instead of raising interest for her own benefit.

8) The owner is accepting volunteer work in exchange for riding lessons :)

Ya know I am actually not sure! I have just started volunteering a couple wks ago but I will definitely ask my trainer. Is there a reason why you would like to do group lessons instead of private?

Thanks for the response. I was thinking group because in Miami the prices are insane. Right now I take private lessons but I sorta prefer not having all the attention on me the entire time. LOL. Can you please let me know the price for private and group lesson? I appreciate your help!

Yeah, the prices are pretty nuts here. I will def look into it for you and let you know! It might be good for her to evaluate your ability at first before getting into a group lesson. I was totally out of luck finding anywhere cheap in this city too! What area are you going to be in during your visit?

Well, then A-1 is your place :) it is in Kendall's Horse Country! Miami Eq is in the Redlands so that's much further. MsKibibi it will be my pleasure to find out this information for you so that you can stay consistent in your training. :)

Moonstruck, this is a great post! I have always had a great passion for horses but never got the chance to really be around them to much until one summer I was able to learn how to ride english but I haven't been back on a horse since now I am back in Miami and to be honest I am really just looking for the opportunity to donate my time just to be surrounded by horses again. Do you know if A-1 is accepting anymore volunteers? Although getting lessons in exchange would be quite the blessing I would love to make it very clear that with my volunteer I do not expect anything in return but the chance to share my love with the horses on the farm :) please reply
