You get some yard sales around here that are like that, apache, but for the most part they're pretty good. Although it looks like we might be going paint balling instead. *sigh* Don't really want to go paint balling, but my boyfriend is super excited about it, so I'm going anyway.

I went paint balling once, never again. I was laying on the ground, and some idiot stood over the top of my and shot me in the shoulder twice, removing my skin. Ouch.

There was a young child killed in the Aurora movie theater. That amazes me too.

I'm confident that if any of the guys did that to me, my big, bad Marine will have something to say about it. I just don't wanna go.

Drafty. Part of life is sharing and caring. Paint ball sounds like fun once you have got into the right frame of mind. (sharing) Don't be on your BOs side, be in the opposing team and make sure your team wins the fight. Now you have the bragging rights and maybe he won't want a re-match.(sarcastic caring)

AlexS, even while laying on the ground, the neolithic character standing over you was at the disadvantage. All you had to do is fire your gun and adminster pain. Most know paint ball at close range hurts and leave some good bruises.

I should have Stan, but sadly he got me first and I was in to much pain to react.

My life is a living yard sale. We own our own business and are contracted by banks to secure and maintain foreclosure homes. We do it all from the eviction down to getting the property ready to be sold and then maintained while on the market. Need less to say we come across STUFF constantly! You would be shocked at the amount of things people leave in their houses. I will say, this is a very humbling and emotionally exhausting line of work. Just this past Friday we got the luxury of evicting a family with an elderly man on oxygen. They had an entire house full of belongings and were attempting to get everything moved out (we posted a notice Wednesday of the impending eviction) and they were nowhere near completed. I teared up after I got back in the truck. I spoke with the son, gave him my number, and told them they could have until Monday to go ahead and get all of their belongings. The bank can kiss my a$$. I'm not throwing that family out on the street. They don't need the house that badly that they can't wait until Monday after the family is moved out.

So, ya, the mortgage industry blows. I see it from the inside every single day.

I have trouble comming to grips with the banks moving on a home under the present world economic situation. I know and understand the requirement to recover the money invested and if need be by forced sale. But on the other hand (county song) would it not be better if they could work out a way the home is saved and the purchaser gets to keep their home. I think there is to much knee jerk action by the banks and lenders which has the effect of perpetuating the economic problems we are all experiencing.

But again on the other hand the lender has the right to recover their money and if selling the properety at a loss in order to recover their investment it is their right and not in a business sence the wrong thing to do. However it does mean the purchaser has lost their investmant.

Now back to the oldies thread where we worry more about whether we will be able to get on the horse, and where on the saddle is the space for our seeing eye dog, walking sticks and medication.

Welcome Sarah! Feel free to talk racing to me anytime, I'm one of a few (??) on HF who live and breathe it

I have never, and will never go paintballing. I can bruise by lightly bumping into something so I'm fairly certain I would end up looking like I had just gone 10 rounds in a UFC ring if I went.

I miss yard sales, it's not something that is done over here. I really should try and bring it over here, I had a crap load of old baby stuff I want to get rid of!

We dropped ol Nod back to the yard today. Somewhat surprised to see a strange horse in the pen with Bandit. We've had very bad wind and rain here the last two days, and I noticed that the dividing fence between two other pens was down so I'm thinkin that is why she is in there. I had no choice but to put Nod in, as I had nowhere else to put her The other horse seemed quite timid, and Nod quickly put her in her place and then my two stood side by side at the hay, I just hope nobody is injured this evening. I DID tell them she was coming back this evening and they do know she is handy with the hind end, plus the original agreement was that it would only be my two in the pen together, nobody else.

So I just got sent to the auto parts store for DH (always a fun and embarrassing experience) to return some hose thing and get a fuel filter and antifreeze. I left Percy out while I was gone because I thought the girls were going to be inside and play instead of going back outside. I was wrong. This pig is so naughty for real. He decided he better go ahead and help himself to a box of jars filled with honey jelly. After ripping the box up and getting the jars, He managed to get the lid off one of them and now there is honey jelly EVERYWHERE. Then, he must have figured he should wash that delicious honey jelly down with some potting soil straight out of the bag. A good time for him indeed. I swear if I didn't love that little $hi+ so much, my next post would be describing the juicy pork roast, basted with he remaining honey jelly, that I made for dinner.
