Oh! Forgot!! She has the CUTEST little palomino filly. She's not quite a yearling and is just the sweetest little pocket pony. She's shedding out a lovely deep gold with a corn silk colored mane and tail.

OMGosh!!! I could NOT BE HAPPIER FOR YOU!!!

It sounds like it went so amazingly well, I don't think you could have hoped for more!! What a blessing! (sorry for all the exclamation marks, but I'm just so excited for you!!!)

Sounds like you not only have a new riding teacher, but a training partner for any issues with Aires in the future, and a new horseshow companion!!! Yay!

Drafty, I'm also very happy for you! Lessons are awesome, and it sounds like yours went great!

Me, I'm a total noob and I didn't like the English lessons I took...*but* I found someone offering Western lessons at the rate of a prepaid pack of four for $100. I'm sitting on my hands wanting to call them, but I figured Easter was a bad time...sooo tomorrow I should know if I'm going to be taking lessons again!!! Whee!

I'm extra excited because I don't really know how to ride, though the BO sometimes lets me ride her head mare (she says no one else can, but since I don't kick her or pull on her face, I'm allowed)....none of my horses are rideable, so I need my FIX! <3

Yay Drafty! Delighted it went so well.

Demon - Hope you get to make the call soon, I know what its like to not have that "fix"... I get grumpy when I haven't ridden in a while to the degree that hubby stops me and tells me to go out to the horse lol!

I thought I was onto a good day yesterday, I won €3 on the lotto, when I cashed in the ticket she offered me a scratch card so I took it.... €25 I won! Thought it was my lucky day, and I then picked a 12-1 winner but had no money on it. Anyway, drivin home from my MILs after easter dinner... my freakin jeep breaks down!! Argh! It looks like it's the gearbox... and I drive an automatic so now im getting an earful from everybody Irish how I MUST start driving an manual as I wouldn't have these problems, and fixing it would be so much cheaper and easier if it were.... of sod off already! The whole of North America gets by perfectly fine with automatics.

So now i'm carless again.... and we don't have the abo €1500 floatin about to fix it. *sigh* OH, and hubby wasnt half bothered about the dent I put in after hitting that trailer when I told him after the gearbox went -thats a bonus... right??

Stop for a minute, open your mind, learn. You may not agree with what I say, I may not agree with what you say but we will both learn something new.

Oh Maple, so sorry about your vehicle!! :0(

That is the absolute worst (auto trouble!...Yuck.)

What is interesting is that DH and I were JUST TALKING last week about how it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to buy a 5 spd anymore, how every vehicle twenty years ago was manual, but now, people ONLY WANT automatic, so that's what is sold! I love manual...I don't get so bored while driving, and I feel like I'm ACTUALLY DRIVING the car, you know?

He said, "No one feels like that, people hate shifting, so that's why only Jeeps and some trucks are 5-spd anymore!" (clearly NOT ALL JEEPS! Your's isn't! I thoughr they all were five-spd, too!)....they do tend to break a LOT though, and finally, after a bunch of other little things went wrong with it, we actually got rid of our Jeep Wrangler when the water pump broke, and it was '05, & it was nearly ten years old, thus we thought it was time! In retrospect, we should have just kept and fixed it (I loved that Jeep!)....oh well...

Anyhow, I hope you're able to get it repaired in short order!! In the meantime, are you close to work so you can ride your bike or walk or the like?? At least that will be good exercise! (thinking positively)!

Good luck with the call about the lessons, also!! So exciting!! Keep us posted, and be well!!

I am begrudgingly dragging myself over to this thread to say Hi. The anniversary of my surviving another year was yesterday. I really tried to be upbeat and take it gracefully, but I'm feeling mopey and bitchy. I predict those feelings will pass around the time the snow melts and show season hits full swing though. I know my surly attitude is because I always thought I would get more accomplished by 30, not that I had any serious goals, I just imagined more interesting things would happen. I know the one thing I really wanted to do was show one of my own babies at the cutting futurity which is why I am currently planning on keeping Teena (a 2012 foal) and putting her into cutting training.

So hi fellow 30 somethings.

Welcome, CCH!

Don't feel too bad about not having accomplished anything "wow." I'm 30 and still don't know what I want to do when I grow up.

Speaking of "thirty something"- did anyone else's mom ever watch this show when they were young?

I remember 30 seeming so OLD when she would have that show on. Yikes.
