Had a quick read. I'm + 30 so qualify and what caugt my imagination was the singing with the ipod.
I take it you ladies have ear phones on and sing along. If so here is the way to improve the sound coming out to the point the friends, family and hangers on wont walk around you with that pained expression.

You can't sing with earphones on because you can not hear yourself so you sound Flat and out of tune.

My DW is a pro singer and muso. When we are driving she puts the earphones on and sings along. The sound is so bad I have at times been tempted to crash the vehicle just to get relief. Its true.
So to save embrassment and hurting the ears of your loved ones, only have one ear phone on and the other ear clear. Now you will be able to hear yourself and get in tune. Please.

Not a good day around here today. Woke up this morning and Abby has a huge swelling on her neck/under her jaw. It's about racketball-sized and hard as a rock. She doesn't appear to be in any pain, and is drinking and eating a little, but she's definitely not acting like my happy Abby. She's trotting around and keeping up with Cash, but she doesn't want to play with Cash and just looks...sad. I'm going to make an appointment for her for Wednesday, but if she is worse tomorrow, we'll take her in. It just hurts me to see my baby girl so sad.

In (much) better news, my mom's blood test results came back and she is 100% cancer free!!!

But, but, but...who doesn't love the bad auditions on Idol and similar shows? I just provide that fun, live! HAHA! I try to only sing when I know that no one is around, just happens that someone stops in on occasion and gets a few seconds of torture and to that I say, should've called first!

Sorry to hear about Abby. Hopefully it's a quick fix and she gets better soon. Big yay on your mom's good news. That's wonderful!

So I didn't get to do my fun (well, work but excited for results) arena project over the weekend but we did get the monster tree cut & fence finally finished last night. The stump proved to be quite a strong adversary. It was HUGE (an easy 6+ ft across) and of course when it went down, part of the insanely big root system was pulled up right where the fence line runs. It took a lot of chainsaw work - notching out for chains, slicing the roots and then we used our tractor, my pickup and neighbors tractor with log chains on all 3 and pulled that stump, a 1/5 of it out at a time. What a job. Boarder's horses are back in the pasture though (of course it was their pasture) and out of my barn. Big sigh of relief. Now I hope that I can do my arena walls next weekend.

On a fun note, starting to plan a 10 year anniversary trip for next year. Tomorrow will be 9 years married, 13 years together. Sure doesn't seem like it's been that long! Looking at somewhere with lots of sand and palm trees. Right now, the front runners are Nevis, St Kitts, St Maarten and Eleuthera (Bahamas). There's so many beautiful beach houses on all of them that it's going to be tough to choose. If anyone wants to help me wade through beach rentals, have at it. Not quite as fun as horse shopping though.

I'm glad you made it in one piece. I'm sorry about the chinchilla, and what happened to the poor dog? What a trip! And ?congrats? On the pee test?

The beach wedding was this past Saturday, we had such a great time. After the wedding, which included a double baptism in the ocean, and an incredible chocolate fudge cake, me, hubby, and the happy couple went and chilled on the beach for a couple hours, just the four of us. The water was crazy rough and cold, but we got in anyway. Yeah, I totally flashed the beach when a wave tore my top half off. Some sleazy drunk guy followed me around like a lost puppy for the rest of the afternoon after that. (My oh-so-chivalrous hubby thought that was absolutely hilarious.) I have a couple pics from the day.

Ah well he thinkd the dog ate alfalfa pellets meant for the bunnies. Arthas has been known to do stuff like break Into yhe pantry and eat **** like uncooked rice...anyway this genius didnt notice the dog in the cab with him must have been in distress. It can't have been a painfree death that's all I know. I spiked my moms coffee w bunny pellets when I was really little and she always told , e it was really bad for a couple days and she felt like she was going to die :(

Anyway I got my baby girl (horse) back! She is huge somehow! Im guessing she must only be about 15 hands but, wow

Wow, she HAS gotten big since the last pictures I saw of her!

Hope everyone had a good 4th. We went into town and watched the fireworks and had a cookout with friends. (The same friends we just watched get married at the beach. They came home early because it rained on them for 3 solid days and they just gave up.) The kids had a blast running around a field catching "pop-bugs" and grasshoppers, and then lightning bugs later on. And then when we got home, we pulled out the sparklers. It was really neat watching the fireworks, as a storm was off in the distance and there was lightning going on behind them.

    I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaack!

Finally got my internet fixed.... after what? 6 weeks. I've slightly missed having it... but I've also been so busy that I wasn't too concerned for a lot of the time.

Show yesterday - another disappointment. We were about 5th, down the line again. *sigh*. When we came out of the ring, the woman at the horsebox beside us called me over. She told me she was a judge and had watched the class - she said she would have placed us 3rd at worst. She said what could be used against us is the pony's age - they want to see younger ponies... which is insane as it is a under 6 leadrein class! She also said it was downright wrong that kids infront of us weren't even wearing proper showing gear, ponies were plaited and handlers were in casual wear.

We are really really struggling as all these shows happen in small towns. The judges are from these small towns, and a good few of the competitors are from the town. They know a lot of the kids by name, and place the kids they know higher than those they don't. DD took part in a "young handlers" class. The pony who placed 2nd in the LR (wearing 3/4 trousers and a tshirt) was in the class - handler wearing blue jods and a blue tshirt. DD and Nod did their walk and trot, and did it well. Other pony refused to move, had to be chased and was repeatedly smacked by other child to move - other pony, and Sally as the judges called the child, still won if they could just judge fair... that's all I ask!

There was a professional photographer there yesterday, so will have nice pics tomorrow hopefully. In the meantime, here are the two relaxin between their classes:
