Thanks, KyMoMo. The trouble is that my brother just got out of prison after eighteen years and so whenever he wants something or feels entitled to something or wants to guilt-trip you, he pulls the "Well, I haven't been able to do [whatever] in eighteen years" card. I hate feeling like I'm being mean or selfish with family (I was very selfish and entitled when I was little...I'm the youngest of four, we're all adopted and my next older sibling [my other brother] is five years my parents spoiled me a bit). I hate fighting, conflict and confrontation, especially with family (if it can't be avoided in regular life, fine, I'll deal with it). Ugh!

*hugs* Drafty

As clichéd as it sounds, I can relate to how you feel. I have very little to do with my family. My brother and father are both users, to the extreme that none of our extended family have anything to do with them anymore - I've spoken to my brother on the phone once in the last year and have had no contact with my father in over 2 years. Maybe pop by for the visit, and leave your phone hidden in the car. Tell him you forgot to bring it with you. Next time, visit when the battery is dead.

Hopefully the issue with your bf will get sorted soon - maybe it was just the excitement of finally having money of his own and he went overboard. If he wasn't getting a wage chances are he has little concept of budgeting.

Hoping today is better for you.

MH - Hope the pain is starting to ease a bit. I'd love to see more pics of Hondo whenever you get a chance.

Tryst - Welcome to the group! :)

Drafty, maybe you can tell you brother that you couldn't afford your current phone bill, with everything that's been happening, and had to downgrade to a cheaper phone, one without internet access, in order to keep up with bills. Then he'd not have a reason to want to borrow your phone. You would just have to be sure not to pull it out and check it around him.

Ugh, it sounds like everyone is having a rough time lately. As bad as it sounds, sometimes its a good reminder for ME at least, to know that random stupidly bad crap doesn't only happen to me, and not everyone else's life is nice, boring and perfect!!!

Drafty, I'm sorry about your husband always forgets to pay the bills he's supposed to take care of, so I know the feeling. As for your brother, is he not ALLOWED to have internet access or something? Because honestly, it might be cheaper to go to or amazon, and buy him a cheap cheap cheap tablet with wifi, and tell him to go steal someone's wifi instead.

I bought a tablet yesterday and used 100 dollars of expotv credit to make it more affordable. That's one viable option to do the tablet thing if you can't afford to just blow money on your bro....I can pm you a link if you want.

Anyway so some good news! I went to Camelot spur of the moment (well as spur of the moment as an 8 hour drive can be!) and bought a horse that I can ride!!!! Whee! She was basically my third choice. The first was a DEAD DEAD DEAD Broke registered arab gelding. A little girl wanted him for her first horse though, and I was *not* going to bid against a 7 or 8 year old girl. (He went for 400). The second was a WELL TRAINED paint that looked like a pit bull. He was like a little soldier, but the guy who rides the horses told me that he had way too many buttons for a beginner. This guy turned on a dime, he did everything the rider asked, and we were told that he went for 6500 a few years ago. I kinda wanted him and my husband REALLY wanted him, but I don't want to end up eating sh*t more than I have to, or getting slammed face first into a wall because I wasn't I passed. He went for 1300. Another deadbroke bay I decided against bidding for because it freaked the hell out when it's buddy was taken away for a test ride. Soo...I went for this huge paint mare with an abscess in her mouth. She is super interested in people and while she didn't seem as perfectly honed like a weapon (my husband's terminology lol), she did well. Anyway after the vet comes out, the BO and I are going to work with her. Can't wait until we're all clear!

Anyways, she is VERY LARGE. I Didn't realize how big she is...BO guestimates over 16 hands! O_O Also they say she is "aged", about 15 years old, but I'm going to get the vet and the dentist to give me their estimates, so by Monday I should have a better idea!!

No names yet, but the first thing that came to mind is "Witch" (mare lol), so until I can come up with something, so she shall be called!

PS, the equine dentist is also a farrier, thank god, so that will be done on Monday too.

I'd die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't imagine how anyone can exist with no internet access =(

And thanks, I'm hoping to take some real pictures once she's brushed out and cleaned up a little =)

He hasn't had Internet for 18 years, so it's not like it's been taken away from him.

I keep thinking "Xena, warrior princess" when I see your new mare. Lol

She is really pretty! And her feet don't look nearly as bad as some that I've seen come through there, I think you got a good one. We'll demand lots of pictures once you get her all cleaned up!

I guess I should introduce the moment I'm not sure where I fit in because I am going to be 30 in a month and 4 days (ugh). So please don't kick me out! Anyways, not looking forward to the 30 thing, I'm not sure how I got here so fast and where the time went.
A little about me...Married with one son who just turned 10(another OMG) and who also just informed me the other day that he is 10 and too old to believe in the easter bunny, and that infact he has not believed in santa for two years now! I live in the best part of Canada, that is BC, where we hardly ever get snow and have been mowing our lawns for the past month and a half and even better...I can ride ALL year. I have had a horse since I was two, that is when I got my first pony. I now have Lightning (yes he was named by a ten yr old girl) and he is the love of my life! I got him last november and I am hoping to barrel race with him but as of now he has a bolting problem that I am trying to brake him of so we will see how it goes. Also have a lab/Shepard named Bandit and some fish. Think that's about it....:)

Demon - I look forward to more pics! Let us know when you decide on a name and congrats!!

Welcome Faye :) I didn't mind the transition to 30... although at work today I was dealing with a 17yo and realised he is darn near half my age *sigh* lol. I was born in BC.. and am confident that some day I will move back there.
