    Ana is here!

Ana arrived his afternoon. She was a little stressed when she got off the trailer but she's settling in nicely at her new home now. She's in a separate paddock for now but has touched noses with 3 other horses in neighboring paddocks. She will stay in there for a couple of days until the BO feels she's ready to meet more horses. If that goes well she'll be turned out into the pasture with the rest of them.

I'm so excited and exhausted at the same time. Couldn't sleep last night, been running around like a nervous mother waiting for her first child to be born.

Spent the last 3 hours with her, just watching her to make sure she's ok. At one point I went into the paddock to pick up some loose strings and she just followed me around like a puppy dog. I tried out her new halter on her and it seems to fit; also spent some time grooming her which she seemed to enjoy.

The previous owner gave me her bridle for free and is letting me borrow a Pessoa saddle for a few weeks until I can get my own. Such a nice lady; so lucky that she sold her to me. I still need a girth, stirrup bars, stirrup leathers and a saddle pad so that's the next thing on my agenda.

I might ride her bareback tomorrow since it's supposed to be nice out.

Anyway, that's my big news for today. Hope everyone else is doing well.

She looks beautiful! I'm sure she'll settle in well.

She is a stunner! Look forward to hearing how your relationship grows.. and seein many more pics!

Vicki - I remember my first time drivin a horsebox... stressful and all I had was a round bale of hay in the back!! Time and patience is your friend, and sod those who are around you :) Glad you hear you've got the pony for a while.

Nothing too strange here. My hours at the p/t job have been cut... to be expected at this time of year. I had a run in with MIL yesterday... argh!!!!!!!! I restrained myself from tellin her was a condescending, ignorant, pathetic woman she was. It was her first time in my house in over 2 years.... and the first time I have seen/spoke with her in several months. I'm goin to stick with my normal way of life - pretend she isn't there. The 30 min I had to spend with her was enough to fry my brain.

I had no joy with the car. Garage said they didn't get any CCTV of the actual incident. The police are useless here... beyond useless TBH. I called them and the officer I was workin with isnt in again til Wed, and no other officer wanted to get involved... argh! Again.

Have the blacksmith comin out to do both horses tomorrow while I'm at work. My blacksmith does mostly racehorses... so he quite enjoys doin my two - doesnt even need a headcollar to do a full set. He's a master farrier, but gives me a good deal and doesnt mind bringin them in from the field by himself which takes the pressure off me. Although I'm doing to have to wait on a break in the weather... it's been lashing rain and the fields are underwater.

It sucks about the car maple, hope your insurance will cover it.

Your MIL sounds like mine, not so nice! Best avoided if possible LOL

Driving the trailer was not as bad as I'd thought it would be, but my reversing skills suck! But I knew that already from towing stuff around the farm

Little Ted the pony is legendary! Calm and quiet, easy to handle with sufficient stubborness to ensure DD needs to RIDE him, not be a passenger. She's getting much more confident.

Not much new here in the land of the sun. Just truckin' away at the job.

We went to Phoenix (a two-hour drive) on Saturday for my nephew's 20th birthday party. He had it at a place called Organ Stop Pizza. It's really cool because they have a 6000+ pipe organ that comes up out of the floor on a stage and a guy plays requests and everything. My older brother is a pianist and music lover and had never been there so it was a real treat. Before we went to the pizza place, we had late Christmas at my sister's new house. Her house is huge and gorgeous! Anyway, she got me a nice pair of jeans and a big chunky bracelet and a cute page-boy cap. My niece got me an amazing necklace. She always gets me the best, most heart-felt gifts. It's a pendant made from the P key of an authentic 1930's Royal King typewriter. I love it so much and wear it on the same chain as my promise ring from Robert.

Okay, so I am not quite 30 yet... I am 29 and will be 30 later this year... Can I be here? Please? I just don't quite fit in with the 20 somethings. I would rather be in the over 40s thread really- but that's pushing it! I have an old soul... Please?

Ah, yes! Thank you! I am hoping that 29/30 are better to me than 28 was! So far, so good! I just got back from Mexico, and I am newly engaged!!

I really wanted to ride a horse on the beach there- but I stopped myself. I know I would have been upset by the condition of the horses. While I know its kind of part of the culture there, I still would have been a little upset. The horses on the Island of Cuzumel just roam around, and the ones that are tied up are tied by a rope around their necks to a tree! It was an interesting change of scenery there, anyway. Nice to get away.

Welcome, Strawberry4Me! Of course you can join us!

I haven't been to Mexico in years. I bet it's changed a lot since I was there last. We used to spend summers in Rocky Point as I have an aunt and uncle with a house right on the beach.
