Thanks for your thoughts guys. It's definitely been weighing on me and I'm leaning towards moving on. I had a talk with him last night and I'm still not totally convinced one way or the other, but I figure I'll look at things objectively for another month and see where we stand. I'd already been looking at putting an expiration date on things. I can be patient if I need to be, but I can't fly blind.

In better news, I've been looking at learning how to do pleasure driving, and managed to get several recommendations for people in my area to teach me or help me find somebody to teach me. The person closest to me has Friesians, but I'm still leaning towards minis for multiple reasons (cheaper to board & feed, for one). I have my next groundwork clinic coming up on the 9th, so I'll get more exposure to working with minis there too.

And is it SPRING yet? 28 degrees here this morning. Unacceptable!

I wish my son had "horse fever!" He was impressed by the kids competing at the reined cowhorse event I dragged him to, but I just don't have anything he can ride - I've only put about 20 rides on my 3 year old gelding so far. I'm having trouble finding someone nearby for western riding lessons, and I KNOW he wouldn't go for English - he's a true Texan and needs his cowboy hat and boots, lol.

Cynical no disrespect to the English riders but I would have killed my mom for putting me in that outfit lol I'm just like him I need my hat and boots

Been a lot of things going on with my family here lately. One of my uncles is having another cataract surgery on Wednesday and my mother has beeen having some health issues as well. In April my mother will be going in for a biopsy. Hopefully that'll work out.

Sending you peaceful thoughts, HorseLovinLady.

My 35th birthday is approaching this month. I'm not a big celebration kinda gal, but I keep finding myself reflecting on the past few years. I really can't complain about where I've arrived in life, but there are some pesky minor details which could use some tweaking moving forward.

Hope everything goes well for your family HorseLovinLady.

This is going to be one super-expensive month for me, sadly. I owe $400 on taxes this year, I have to get my yearly inspection on my car done this Saturday, and I need new glasses. I haven't been able to set much aside for savings last month and certainly not anything this month, either, so does not make for a happy me.

I may get a second job for a while because my poor 17 year old Honda is probably not going to make it another 30k miles, and I want to start saving for my next vehicle right away. Thankfully I live close to work and I don't take many long trips, so it may be another year or so before the Honda is officially ready for that Big Scrap Heap in the sky.

But to the good, I'm going to my next clinic in the series on the 9th, and a miniature horse show on the 13th!

Mulefeather - I just got a new Honda last year. I sure hope it lasts as long as yours has.

Not much new at my end. I do feel like a little kid at a candy store now that I have a Ana at a barn with amenities. I'm giving her a day off from all the fun. Sometimes munching away on a fresh bale of Bermuda feels so right ;)

I just want a vacation - or a new job. Either would work at the moment.

Cat- Sometimes a change is as good as a rest, as they say. Good luck!

Frlsgrl - Mine is a 97, and the older Hondas were apparently made out of pretty tough stuff. Is yours new-new or new-to-you? I've put 63k miles on the "Dinosaur" in the last 3 1/2 years I've had it, and I bought it with 104k in 2010. I am pretty hard on cars (kind of forgetful when it comes to maintenance :-/) and it's taken everything I could throw at it and kept right on ticking along. They're great everyday vehicles! My next vehicle MAY be a truck, depending on if I'm getting more into showing/driving miniatures - I seem to have been bitten by the tiny-horse bug lately :)
