This is fun, thanks for starting. My name is Erin, I'm 33, and live in southern New Hampshire.

By day, I'm a statistics nerd, and run a research team for a large organization that focuses on urban education policy and training teachers.

Outside of work, I want nothing to do with the computer, data, or analysis, and most of my hobbies involve animals. I have one horse, Isabel. I have owned her since last July, but leased her two years prior. She's a really easy first horse, but if you've read any of my posts about her on here, you know how much I've learned since taking on all the responsibilities that come with ownership. I took lessons on and off as a kid, stopped for quite a while during my teen years and into collect, but got back into horses again while in grad school. Being a volunteer at a therapy barn made me realize how much I missed riding, so that's pretty much what lured me back in.

Outside of horses, I have two shelter dogs, a cat, and 3 chickens (with 6 more babies coming next month!!). And a wonderful husband who tolerates the menagerie :)

So nervous!) Got my first trailer yesterday!!! Now I just have to learn how to tow it!

Good things come to those who wait;)
Muppetgirl, this is a total tangent, but I've been meaning to tell you how much I love your avatar. One of our dogs is a collie-St. Bernard mix, and when she goes too long between grooming, her hair gets crazy wild and from a young age, we always called her "Muppet" as her nickname (her actual name is Delia).

She's just as likely to come when called "Muppetgirl" as she is "Delia." Here she is in her Muppety glory last summer:

Lol I probably shouldn't admit to my menagerie....

I *will* admit to eight cats (I stopped rescuing when I stopped being able to find them homes that would keep them indoors and spay/neuter...but then I ended up with the last three), a horse, two ponies....dogs.....

    *hides*

Um, as far as outside of HF/horses....I have two kids, a 10 year old girl and a three and a half year old boy. I"m sort of a fifth year senior in a lot of ways, I'm currently taking Spectral Analysis, though the class I really needed was Calc for my degree. I'm a Forensic Biology major, and I was supposed to study Serology in grad school...I may just wind up applying to work forensics in LA instead, once we move back home.

Soon to be 34, here. Childhood 4-H led to open all-around showing, and then to an Equestrian degree from University of Findlay. Moved across the country to work for a big name reining trainer and loved my 24/7 horse career. Then I fell in love with someone from "the big City" and somehow gave it all up.

After an 11 year break from horses, I started leasing a horse this past September, and then purchased a 2 year old AQHA gelding a few weeks ago. A fiance, 7 year old son, 6 month old Catahoula leopard dog, and full-time city job fill the non-horsey hours of my day.

I've been thinking about this '30's' thread.....I'm thinking we are all going to be too busy to post here, lets face it, when you're in your twenties time seems to be unlimited, when you're in your fourties you've 'made it' but when your in your thirties you're trying to make up time from living up your twenties and when your in your fourties your too darn tired from all the catch up from the thirties.....

Dlpark2, we're in the same boat, LOL.

Hi! I'm Genie and I will be turning 38 soon. I live with my husband (married 16 years, together almost 20) and our 10 year old daughter who I refer to as Kitten.

I've been horse crazy my whole life, but grew up in the burbs with non horsey parents. A horse topped my Christmas list every year, but I was always disappointed. So, I read a lot of books about horses and tried to learn everything I could for the day I finally purchased my first horse.

Fast-Forward to the summer of 2010 when Kitten was 7 years old. Her Godmother (my BFF) invited her to a horse camp near her work. Kitten fell in love and came home begging to ride. Seizing the opportunity, I found a local stable and signed her up for riding lessons. We've been addicted ever since. We purchased our horse, Acey, almost one year ago. My daughter now competes in local shows and focuses on Hunt Seat Equitation and Hunter Under Saddle.

While I rarely ride, I LOVE working from the ground with my daughter and her horse. I find it very relaxing. I came to this forum to learn from individuals with more hands-on experience and to connect with other horse crazy "show" moms. :)

    Thanks for starting Paige!

Amber here, 32 (Oh where did my 20's go!!), and soooo busy! Do you guys feel like you run 25/8? I keep thinking "Shouldn't things start settling down YET!?!".

Have 3 horses, lotsa chickens (and getting more! I'm an addict!), three huge dogs, an 8 year old daughter, and one beloved hubby that's turning into a mountain man. We run a family business, have a couple internet sites, and I'm a full time freelance artist. We trail ride (when we have time, so recently that's like never).
I've been riding almost everyday since I was 7, me, my horse, and wide open spaces. (well, wide hilly places around here!)

We moved out to the middle of nowhere 7 years ago, my friends think I'm looney. Working on rehabbing our ancient farm that was started in 1900, the house has been "updated" multiple times. Picture multiple layers of 70's/80's wallpaper and paneling, shag carpet, ancient fixtures, terrible woodwork... I've almost got it into the 21st century, almost. It's been a long road and I have such a long way to go...

I love to garden and I'm trying to learn to "live off the land", yeahhhhh... It's a learning process. Oh how I would love to be able to make quick runs to the grocery or visit family or grab a bite to eat! I wouldn't trade the inconveniences for anything though! Love getting to garden in a nightgown and crazy hair without worrying about drop ins or snooping neighbors! LOL!!

    Hang in there busy ladies!
