LOL they said that about PA, but it seems to only take one disinterested judge with a recently obtained tru$t! ;)

I hope you're right though, because TBH, we've spent years, and thousands of dollars, to try to make sure my daughter was raised right and got everything she deserved from life, and all it took here was "she doesn't love her kids...and her house is dirty" verbal statements, not even real official testimony!!! To send her temporarily to her dad's in another state! O_o

I really hope you're right....I'm pretty sure he can't force the case to stay here, since he's been in AZ for years, she will have been there for six months, and I'm moving. PA can't keep it, no matter how much he'd like. CA had declared permanent jurisdiction over the case, we see how much that was worth!

ANYWAY, I'm going to go see my horses soon, I got a new bit in the mail and I want to bit Witch up so I can ride her. =P And I also gotta work with MP and Pumpkin, since MP needs to let us touch her hind legs by Monday, and since that little devil kicked me in the leg a couple days ago! THEN it's lesson time! I'm so excited, but I'm sure it will be totally boring...not sure there will be much to recap! I'm just glad to finally be learning. I don't trust 100 percent in my BO's statement that "You'll be just fine! You're a natural!"...haha

Is it weird that I feel weird that it will be a man teaching me tonight? I feel like he's going to be mean for some reason....

I hope you can get all that sorted out. I can't imagine.

Have fun at your lesson! Who cares that it's a man, show him what a woman you are! I find it easier to learn from and interact with a man most times. Women can be pushy and overly expectant.

Alex - I've mentioned before how I feel about you being a foster parent, so I won't do it again. I admire what you do, and knowing what it's like to be a kid in the system, I can't blame you for having a smoke or a drink! :)

To those fighting custody battles at the moment - I do hope it all works out for you. Sometimes I feel that my kids are the only things I have to keep me going, and I can't imagine life without them. I went through a rocky patch 3 - 4 years ago... I was so ****ed homesick and so miserable I wanted to leave... I couldn't though because of DD. I even went as far as to call a lawyer and ask what I could do - he said my only option would be to take the child and leave the country while saying nothing and hope they couldn't track me down. I couldn't do that to my husband. At that stage is had been 4 years since I had been home, and I had to wait another 2 years to visit. What I do know is, that the comparison of home sickness to leaving my kids behind wouldn't even come close.

I had a miserable day today. I'm incredibly grumpy and I have so much to do before DD's bday party on Sat.. because I've been carless I can't do the running around I need to do. I've got to send hubby in to get the party bags & fillers, her presents, ect.

I've organised my BIL to meet me at the yard tomorrow to bring Nod up for the party (can't have a pony party without the pony!) . When I let the BO know I was takin her overnight (so he didnt panic and wonder where she had gone) BO was very off to me and told me I was 4 weeks behind on fees - I had to inform him the horses aren't even there 4 weeks yet and our agreement was that I'd pay the 1st Sat of every month. I've heard nothing since. I'm not even a month in and the BO is already getting funny?? Why can I not find a livery yard that just does what it says it will do.

Work is such a drag at the moment. My hours were halved at Christmas and lets just said they treated me horribly. Every year we do a draw and pick out a 2yo, and whoever's 2yo proves best through the year gets the few euro. It's a bit of fun, but this year they've cut me out of it. We've always been a good team, but I'm being a bit childish and feeling left out. Our staff bonus is due over the next few weeks and I swear if I'm cut out of that as well I'll throw a wobbler.

I think I'm just having a right pity party today. I'm not a smoker.. I quit when I came here as I didnt need to look cool anymore lol! I bought one pack of smokes when I was here.... the day after I got the phone call my Mom was dead. I think I smoked my SIL's entire pack the night I got the call.

Now I've got to get stuck into getting more cleaning done.... I can't wait until this party is over!!

Wow @ everyone!! I wish I could help everyone out!! I can however send good thoughts to all of you and hope that things get better!

My day started out great, planed a ride with a friend but then it was cancelled because it is pouring rain, ugh! I will try again tomorrow.

I did read everyones post about quitting smoking, yes I am as well a smoker. Its funny because I always swore to myself I would quit before I turned 30, well that's less then a month and I am still smoking. I think quitting is probably going to be the hardest thing I have ever had to do and not sure I have the will power for it but have tried and will continue to try until I can :)
Well hope everyone is having a good or stress free day, just keep thinking that its Thursday, the weekend is near and hopefully its a sunny one for riding!!

Alex, it's been going on since I was 23 years old, and I'll be 32 this year. So, a really, really long time...

    LESSON tonight!!!

Witch's new bit finally came in the mail, so we saddled her up and I decided to get on her back with a proper bridle....O_O Yeah, she does not like going slow, and she does not feel like she has to pay attention when I make her go slow. =/ Anyway I trotted her a couple of times, and wasn't entirely comfortable. Pretty sure I need to adjust the stirrups up. Then it was time to drive to my lesson.

So first thing, the lesson horse is a dead dead dead broke Appy ex-showhorse mare named "Candy". Candy doesn't think she has to listen to me and actually go anywhere. I had to kick her a lot =/. Eventually the guy wanted to see if I could get her to canter...she sorta thinks about it for a few steps, says "screw this mess" and stops. Apparently she is testing the hell out of me, and that is a GOOD THING, no matter how frustrated I get. By the end, I could get her to walk just by saying "walk", no kicking. The lesson guy (didn't catch his name, or if I did, I'm too tired to remember) said it would be good to ride the horse while STANDING to help strengthen the muscles that I clearly don't have. It's also clear that I really should have had physical therapy after the surgery on my right ankle, because it just simply does not want to go down. I tried really really really hard during the lesson, and I'm definitely going to work on stretching that ankle during the week so I have an easier time keeping the right heel down.

The good news is, the owner of the stable, Sue said that I have a nice seat! =)
Her son, the lesson guy also said that I was doing much better at the trot by the end of the lesson, and suggests that I ride my own horse two or three times a week outside of lessons.

Sue said that after a few lessons, I really need to be riding Witch for lessons. I agree. Witch does not yet "respect mah authoritah!", and I need her to mind for walking even if she's bored.

So overall...good time! FRICKEN EXHAUSTED!!! I know I'm out of shape and all, but WOW ya'll coulda warned me! Hehe ;)
