Demon- I know your stress with trying to find a trailer and having to move. We're making the 1,000 mile move to Texas in June with our geldings plus my mare and foal, who will only be 2 months then. We had money set aside to buy another trailer, but ended up having to use it fixing Dh's truck! The trailer we have sucks and won't fit them, plus it's so crappy (we seriously call it the big brown turd) I don't think it would make the trip. Hell you could throw a cat through the side of it with all the rust.
We've considered breaking into a trailer place and just hooking up and hauling ass out of there, but alas, that would be wrong, not to mention the possible jail time.. ;)

    OMG LOL.

I hear you! We keep seeing these random trailers sitting for months in PARKING LOTS, and alongside the road... O_O
They're all better than ours LOL!
Teh hubby was like...look, let's just go hook it up, it's been there for months, no one will even NOTICE! XD

I know he's joking but dang, people sell the ugliest crapiest things for way too much money!

So what are you planning to do?If worse comes to worse and we can't find a decent one that will leave us enough money to move, we may just have to make a second trip out for Witch. We can probably force teh FIL to find/give us a truck or at least sell us one for a decent price. The trailer we have, with small repairs, will easily fit both shetlands with enough room to wiggle around in.

We're looking for one to buy and trying to set money aside to buy it. Around here they are priced really well, definitely a buyer's market. We should be able to get one that will work for around $2,500. What sucks is starting from scratch and coming up with the money again on top of normal living expenses plus saving for moving truck and our first month's rent! We already paid the deposit at least. Ugh, I freaking hate moving.

Did you get my email btw?

Demon, have you thought about renting one? I know we rented a two horse from a local company to go somewhere when we didn't want to haul our big 4 horse POS for one horse. I have no clue about prices or if they are a decent company and such, but a quick google found me this site. It might be an option if you really get in a jam. American Horse® Trailer Rentals Inc.

Yup, and thanks. Me and the hubby are discussing it, and figuring out options. He does not like the idea of a gaited horse, and doesn't see the point. And honestly, she's probably going to end up being "his" horse...he calls her that already. So I'm not sure what to do.

Sorry I didn't respond....I stayed up all night last night sewing Witch a hood while not studying for my test this morning, which I proceeded to bomb.... annnd I have court on Monday, where I hope to explain to the concilliator (?) how my ex is already screwing around with custody...his current funtime being the email he sent me saying he would no longer give DD my packages unless I give him money.

Ugh, I hate being grown sometimes.

We actually are trying to save money, get a new trailer, carpet this house, paint this house, rent out this house, save up for rent and first months' deposit, and pack all our stuff so that we don't have to pay movers (so get all the moving money instead), all by June.

OOC, are you guys moving your whole household? Like, renting a giant moving truck kinda thing? It seems like a big move!!!!

Good luck with the trailer situations ladies.

School carnival...oh so much fun. Came home with 3 more goldfish to put in my new pond and 2 cakes that I can't eat. The german chocolate one is taunting me, I swear it. Elimination diets suck.

Here's my monkey's winning class poster. The theme was "Under Construction" - the school is building a new arts wing right now. It is based loosely on their class game, a relay race. She drew kids in hard hats doing a relay race around caution cones & tape. I'm guessing she won based on creativity not art skill

My flooded pastures are nothing compared to what resulted in lower areas. It's horrible. This pic is a house on a river about 15 miles from us. I can't even imagine.

Imma die now. K. Thanks. Bye.

Had an unauthorized (by me) $200 deduction from my paycheck today. Left me with $350 of my check to pay the rest of my board, my insurance, and another bill, plus put gas in my car. So done with this job. Everyone treats me like I'm in charge, but I make the least out of anyone back there. I'm going to file a complaint with the state labor commission on Monday. I signed a paper authorizing $200 A MONTH to be deducted from my paycheck to pay for a $1000 deductible I have to pay for a car I damaged. They deducted $200 from my last paycheck, so I figured they wouldn't take anything out of this check. Wrong. I went to the HR lady and she told me I had to talk to the GM (she acted like she had been expecting me). She did, however, give me a copy of the paper I signed. The GM had written over the "month" part of "$200/month" with "per paycheck." There wasn't even an attempt to make it look like the "per paycheck" was originally what was there.

Sorry, I'm rambling. I'm exhausted from work today and a birthday party for a friend's husband at Red Lobster.

Oh dear Drafty!! What a shower of rotten turds!! I seriously hate a lot of employers, an the "treat people like dirt" mentality. I swear the recession hasn't helped at all because they know people are desperate for work (me included, which is why I am forever biting my tongue). Did you manage to bring a copy of the agreement with you to prove it's been tampered?? Can you go above them to a superiour?

I have no thing to report ladies. I'm seriously annoyed with the BO again. Our agreement was that I'd pay 1st Tues of the month. Last week he mentioned to me about payment, I reminded him of our agreement. Again this week he hassled me - seriously buddy this is NOT the way to keep clients! As I mentioned last week when I dropped Nod back, the pen beside theirs was broken - the dividing fence is STILL broken, lieing on the ground (metal and wood) and there are 7 horses running back and forth between the two pens. My two are safe thank god. Yesterday I brought Nod out from her pen and the 7 horses were loose when I came back as their gate wasn't closed properly. I'm having serious concerns about the welfare of the horses. Whenever I'm there I always check my pen, take the twine, crap out of it but if the others are all breakin in/out whats to stop it happening with my two??

I have serious serious issues with yards in this country - is it too much to ask for to get what you ask for, and expect the animals are safe?

Sorry, that's my rant over :) lol!

MHF - Glad that is wasn't your house swimmin! Flippin heck! We have consistant rain, I couldn't actually turn the horses out last year for the summer because everything was under water :(

On the car front - My bro in law is hoping to get a little fiesta today which I may get to hold onto. It's a manual... not an automatic so I'm going to have to learn how to actually drive! That's frightening in itself, but better than walking to school.

DD's first horseshow of the year is the start of June. I'ma proud Mommy, as she is coming on leaps and bounds on ol Nod. She is getting the rising trot, and her position is coming on fantatically. She went off the lead to practice turnin and was eager to do more. She was even brave enough yesterday to ride Nod bareback from the car to the pen! I know it doesnt sound like much, but she was so nervous after the riding school last year that I struggled to get her ON a pony again. I can't wait to get this car sorted because ove rthe next 6 weeks I need her to get as much time on Nod as possible and we need to keep scrubbin the winter fuzzies off the ol girl - her coat is coming on fantastically and the rain roat is more or less gone.

Paige, that is crazy! There should be something you could do about that. What a shady *insert forum inappropriate words*! I think I would be looking for a new job. That is just unreal, as is a lot of the stuff you've said about that place. Certainly fits the smarmy car dealer stereotype. Wow!!!

Maple, your BO sounds almost as smarmy as drafty's employer. Now that I have a couple of boarders, reading the things that some boarders go through just floors me. The fence issue is totally unacceptable and hassling you about payment before it is even due, what the heck?! If either of my 2 boarders ever complain, I'm going to print the horror stories I read on here off for them LOL. One of the horses staying with me is in foal w/unknown due date (long, long story and will share if it is okay with owner - I will ask) and owner works 3rd shift so I'm doing foal watch even, up every few hours to check on her, wasn't asked, offered to do it, no intention of charging her for it. Just seems the right thing to do for the horse.

Glad that DD is getting on well with Nod. Can't wait to see show pics!

M will be showing w/t/c this year on Stubby, also plans to ride my big Hano mare on the flat in hunter under saddle & Equitation. I shot down her full plans when she informed me that she was going to jump her, um not happening kid. Missy is an amazing mare, calm schoolmaster on the flat but over a jump course is a very bold mare, not bad but she knows her job and she loves it - requires a confident, strong rider. When jumping you feel all the power that her 16.3hh body has in it. I love it but DD is nowhere near ready for that.

Got bad news about EZ, the sorrel mare I had given to me for M. She toes out in the front and paddles slightly because of it. Didn't think too much of it, they can't all have perfect confo and she's dead to rights broke & show pen polished so I overlooked it. Well, with much consistent riding she becomes a gimp. Had farrier, chiro & vet (all at the same time, that took some miraculous planning) The toed out part, rotation starts all the way in her shoulder and the 3 decided it was likely that she will hold up to be a w/t or walk only trail horse at best. Farrier said he could do a rocker shoe on the fronts and work with chiro but neither was optimistic and thought likely at her age it would do more harm than good. Soooo, EZ is going back to her old owner for her to figure out what to do with her, retire her or find another home. Either way, she won't hold up for what I need out of her. It's a pretty big bummer and M wasn't happy at all about it but does understand. A few minutes after we talked about it, she told me "Well then mom, Merit will just have to get old enough for me faster or let me help you teach him to ride." Um, he is to be hers years & miles down the road, he won't be 2 for another month. Suppose my kid will follow family footsteps and be a trainer herself? She's a bit young yet but doesn't think so herself. I have let her sit on him and did catch her on him in the pasture once as a yearling - he's quiet enough he let her lead him by his mane to a gate, climb on him and mosey around while he ate. I have to admit, he is one of the most quiet, willing youngsters I've had. Even before I cut him, he didn't know he had the equipment and now that the mares are all in heat and all the boys are going crazy, he's perfectly happy that they are just leaving him alone and couldn't care less that they are springtime hussies. Love that little guy

Maple, I have a copy of the altered form, but not of the original. It's clearly obvious that it's been altered, though. I'm going to be calling the Arizona Labor Commission on Monday and seeing what I can do.

Mandy, some of the stuff that goes on there...yikes. One of the ladies that works there had an agreement with the GM to buy a fifth-wheel that was in rough shape, so they weren't going to offer it for sale to the public. It was going to be her and her husband's place to live. Not even a week after they agreed on price and purchase date, the GM sold the fifth-wheel to a wholesaler. Unfortunately, the lady didn't have anything in writing. I could go on...and on...and on...

Today is a lazy day for me. Going to go work on Aires and then have a lesson later. Tomorrow we might be going paintballing again.
