DS has a friend over for the night, and he likes to ride too. YAY! It's always more fun to ride with a friend, so DS is super-motivated right now.

I rode Miss Abby today, and it was not going well. She really wanted to be with her buddies and was getting frustrated. I was frustrated, too. So I tied her up and did something else for a while. I got back on her when I was completely relaxed, and what a difference! I love when she lets herself relax and we can enjoy each other.

Drafty, I made the chicken pillows for dinner last night. I changed the recipe a little, doubled the chicken and used a mexican three cheese blend. They were a big hit with everybody. Definitely will be making them again, thanks.

Today is the end of season festival for the girls' soccer teams. Fingers crossed that the storms they are calling for later wait until we are done. Poor hubby just got home from work, has to work tonight, and the girls' games are at 11:30 and 1:45. He won't be getting much sleep.

Oh, in case I don't get a chance later (my weekend schedule is slightly insane) Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Yay! So glad everyone liked the chicken pillows, apachie!

I've been feeling kind of...depressed...lately. I know why, but there's not a lot I can do about it at the moment. I feel like Robert and I are losing the "magic" in our relationship. Not on purpose. I feel like we've just fallen into the rut of work, paying bills, and...yeah. We went on a double date with some friends last night and had a blast. We went to dinner at our favorite Chinese restaurant and then went to see Iron Man 3 (holy epic!). That was the first time we've gone on a date in...months. The "magic" has slowly dissipated since I gained weight.

Drafty, keep your chin up. Work on the things you have control over, and pray (or think about) serenity about those over which you have no control. I'll be thinking of you, and hoping things turn around.

And a great big Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers of two-legged beasts and four-legged ones!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all you incredible ladies!!!!

My MD? Working and cleaning the house because people are coming over. Yep, haven't touched it in a month, seems like its starting to smell... But how would I know!? Haven't been outside long enough to get a wiff of fresh air (unless I'm tending chickens/spraying horses/taking out trash/loading feed/hollerin at the dogs fir trampling my flowers that I can't pick/etc!!!) because work is crappy! I pawned the kid off on GP's this weekend, not to take a long nice ride in this blessed 70 degree no humidity weather... I'm staring at a monitor making stupid changes that I should have been told about in the FIRST PLACE. It's due yesterday!

    *sniff sniff*. Happy Mothers Day.

B2H - Its a great country to visit, but I don't enjoy living here. I find it to be very close-minded, blinkered and judgmental in every way (sexuality, race, background). I dislike raising my kids here as they are forced to be Catholic. There is very little to do for families - but if you want to spend your nights in the pub havin the craic and banter, it's the place to be. I'd give darn near anything to get back to Canada.

Happy Mothers day to everybody across the pond. We had mothers day a while back, but I hope you all at least get SOMETHING. If it's anything like mine was, you'll all still be doin the laundry and cleanin the house - just with a box of chocolates to motivate me haha!

Drafty - Hopin things get back on track. Our "magic" is long gone since we've become so used to the day to day routine.... it's like getting stuck in a rut. I can't even remember the last time we had a "date night" of any description.... defo not in the last two years since DS was born.

I have today off of both jobs, so went to a friend's daughters bday party... was there longer than anticipated and will be lookin forward to my bed this evening - I get to go to bed at a normal time yay :)

Definitely no "magic" happening here either. And there hasn't been date night but about once or twice a year in as long as I can remember. And that's only when I insist he take me out for my birthday, does that even count?

Happy mothers day to everyone. My mother's day has been about like every other day. Cleaning, taking care of the kids and animals, blah, blah, blah. Hubby didn't remember, the kids didn't remember. I reminded him we needed to pick up something for his and my moms', so we popped in to the store to get them flowers, and he says, and I repeat, "you want anything? Don't want to hear any griping later." Yeah, he's a real romantic, that man. *eyeroll* So no, I didn't want anything when it was offered that way, no.

The girls both won their soccer games yesterday. It was the first time the younger one's team won a game, so she was thrilled. They both played great, was very proud of them.

Don't feel too bad, apachie. My mother's day gift from DS was a HUGE mess. I told him that since it was MD, he has to clean the living room, front hall, his room, and do his laundry with no complaining. And I'm making him vacuum.
