    Good points all, Maple...

Drafty...the hubs and I having been together so long...ten years this...probably list the "magic"at about, oh, month SIX?? Haha. But...the love that replaces that "butterfly feeling" stays and grows to a place where thinking of life TRULY WITHOUT one another is, well, sort of unimaginable...

We've been through it ALL...ME almost dying...HIM NEARLY becoming incapacitated by illness, fighting the ex-wife in court for custody for literally YEARS... (& as a result, each other at many times due to the tremendous stress associated with that!). BEING DEAD BROKE, like akin to no money for groceries and it's Monday and we get payed Thursday(!) Starting a business, watching it grow and thrive and then slowly die with the s$&t economy, watching him rebuild his ego and start another business endeavor which thus far is holding well (G-d pray it continues!), a NEARLY EMOTIONAL AFFAIR with a Co-worker by me, his forgiveness of such when we discussed for about a month straight why I'd considered LEAVING...and SOOOO MUCH MORE I can't even think about it all...

We've been to hell and back. But we have BOTH MATURED and learned how NOT TO BE selfish, how to be pretty darn kick arse parents to my step son (if I do day so myself!) & overall just coped with LIFE and doing so together has strengthened our bond and our own abilities to be the best PEOPLE we can be.

He's taught me things about like and being good to people that I'd never known before him, and I've taught him how to be a selfless and loving man who puts his FAMILY AND OUR NEEDS, his included, before his "single man desires (like for "toys" & things which if we bought we'd be in real financial straights!)...

Point of my (as usual way too long post)? Hang in there...if you two can get through this REALLY TOUGH TIME and still have something left to hang on to, you'll make it through anything!

P.s. When people struggle, as we have and you have with never having enough time or money, it's very hard to keep the FIRE ALIVE! I can almost guarantee that the lack of "magic" has NADA to do with you gaining weight (I was up to almost 200# when ill, and my usual highest & now current wt is 135#. DH says, even now, that so much time has passed and it wouldn't ever hurt my feelings, that he still found me beautiful at that weight, and I know it's true because he showed me at that time that it didn't matter...and when he got sick and was up to 255# (his "normal" is 190#, where he is now), I always found him gorgeous anyway...it's the OTHER STUFF that robs the "magic"...& it comes in waves, too...so give it a month, and I can almost guarantee, when the money and job stress disappears, things will get back to their usual "steamy ways" in the bedroom!

To we Moms who are STILL CLEANING HOUSE AND DOING CHORES TODAY...Maybe do this...think like me...my greatest Mothers Day gift EVER IS that my son and hubs are happy, healthy, and even messy, cause that means they are here, at home, with me.

My gift is going to be picking out a new comforter and sheet set for our bedroom and Jake's bedroom later today at Kohl's's...we need such badly, and I HATE spending money on stuff until it's a "have to"...so we'll go pick them out later and THAT WILL BE AWESOME! (I LOVE NEW BEDDING! It rocks!!) :9)

Have a beautiful day, y'all! Hugs and prayers to everyone...and those of you who get to SEE YOUR HORSES, AND, MAYBE EVEN RIDE TODAY?? Know I'm so green with envy I could pee! Haha! Be safe and enjoy your equine babies!! :0)

    Happy Mother's Day, my friends!

We went to breakfast this morning, then spent the day putzin' around town running errands and such. I had banana waffles (OMG amazing!!) for breakfast. Found two books at Goodwill that I've been looking for for a while and got a new pair of work boots at Walmart. We went to my parents' house for dinner and had hamburgers and homemade (soy) ice cream. My parents bought me a really neat bracelet that looks like hibiscus flowers made of shell strung together, but it changed from white to fuschia in the sunlight.

I also went and put Aires' new fly mask on him. He was less than thrilled. Every summer we go through this "It's going to eat me!!" routine the first couple of times I put the fly mask on him, then he mellows out about it. Yes, folks, that's a Kensington XL warmblood size fly mask on my 4yo. *facepalm*

At least I don't have to worry about him destroying it like my old gelding did. He's the only one out of his turnout group that's really playful and none of the other geldings will play with him because he's too big and rough (they're all 14.2-15.1hh...he's pushing 16.2hh).

My weekend was crazy busy but good. Turned a year older and mother's day so I got out of doing chores, DH even cleaned stalls and worked the arena!!! Got my veg garden in, can't wait for fresh goodies but am glad it will be a bit before the craziness of picking, prepping and canning starts.

Saturday I had a breakthrough lesson with one of my students and it was wonderful. She had a great lesson/ride and there is nothing better about my job than when something we've been working on clicks.

Oh, a day late but thought this was a very appropriate mother's day sentiment to share here.
