Happy birthday, MH!

And Happy Foster Care Month to AlexS!

I went to the farm store today, and I just have to say that I love having a local place that carries quality horse items! Before they opened up, it was just the local co-op, so we were limited to Purina or their stuff, with absolutely no supplements offered. The farm store carries ADM products and a whole host of tack and supplies. And the people that work there are AWESOME! I was just hit with this overwhelming sense of gratitude for this store and these people today, so I thought I would share.

Happy happy birthday MHF!!

Stop for a minute, open your mind, learn. You may not agree with what I say, I may not agree with what you say but we will both learn something new.

Got to go in late to work today (10am instead of 8:30am) and then got to take off at 2pm to chase one of the salesmen to Kingman (115 miles away) to deliver a car he sold. I'm sitting in the car in the Walmart parking lot while he shows all the goodies to the people buying the car and I am absolutely baking. It's 93F out. We're probably not going to get back until after 8pm (took us 2.5 hours to get to Kingman and it's 5:30 now, so it'll probably closer to 8:30-9pm when I actually get home cuz I have to drop the salesman off at his car). Which means I'll get overtime. Woot.

But then when I get home, I have to clean up the house and make dinner for Robert for when he gets home (around 10pm). /dies

Happy birthday MHF! Not a good weekend for me, I had a busting headache on Saturday and Sunday. :( I hope to start back taking allergy shots soon, I gotta have oral surgery on June 11th, not looking forward to that but will be glad to not have anymore toothaches.

Being horseless is the pits!!

Ugh, I don't think I'll ever get to ride this year at the rate I'm going. Discovered my saddle is bridging so I need to send it to Malibu to the maker to have it adjusted. Just had a horrible shoe job and ended up pulling the shoes and having my dad trim. He trimmed a little too aggressive now I have a sore horse (unless it's the BOSS I just started giving him causing problems). Also trying to get a large toe crack to grow out. Oh and I found that he's got a bit of White Line Disease going on since he was flared so badly then had shoes put on without the flare being dealt with.

On the up side, this has already been a year of learning for me. I know more about the function and design of the hoof than I ever have before. I am learning to trim on my own and how to care for his feet to hopefully have him be able to go barefoot or in front boots by next spring. I've also learned a ton about nutrition.

Happy Happy Birthday MHF! Hope it was fantastic. See if you can milk it til the end of the week. I always tell people it's my birthday week. Worth a try ;)

Sh!t I've been so busy, I don't remember posting about foster moms day, but I just read a response to that. Thank you. I got two kids within a week, one is amazing, the other is not.

Lil 1 is bad, he is now kid 4, and he's a nightmare.

Sorry for not keeping up, I hope you are all ok and doing well.

Mandy, Mandy, happy birthday. So sorry I missed it. I think you are the best Mom ever. I wish I hadn't missed it but I did (hangs head).

Hiya Mandy! I could have sworn I has wished you a Happy Birthday, but it appears that post may be gone... :0( (perhaps it is simply intermingled amidst the massive quantity of words I no doubt over-wrote in a post and I simply can not readily find it!)...

Either way, if I'm relating it twice, then all the better...all the more Birthday Wishes, even a few days AFTER the birthday = a good thing in my book! :0)

Apachie and Affored- I totally MISSED YOUR posts somehow! I feel like crud that I didn't address them (not that it's a biggie to y'all, but I feel RUDE now :0(!
Regarding the Mother's Day gifts, most males REALLY JUST DON'T GET IT! I am not a big "gift" person, and tend to prefer to get a card (homemade!) & maybe get a foot massage or something, rather than do gifts...it's literally like one guy in a thousand who can give appropriate and surprising gifts (aka NOT SAYING, "did you want THIS for a gift?" sort of deal) so aside from a card, I usually will choose to buy something inexpensive that is NEEDED for the house that I'll also enjoy and call it a day (like my new sheet sets mentioned!)...

Look at it this way...I had male a coworker who has an AMAZING GF/"baby mama", with whom he lives. She has a Masters Degree in Social Work and is a high up corporate boss @ my old hospital. She works like, 80 hours a week and makes great $$. As a result, HE ONLY HAS to work like 32 hours a week MAXIMUM, AND, HE gets to crawl into work late, leave early, call in sick when he's not sick, AND NEVER hears a negative word from management about ANY OF THIS, because our boss is under his "woman"...you get my drift?

Anyway, he's got this "perfect" seeming life...they live in a beautiful home, drive two brand new beautiful vehicles, have two adorable, HEALTHY, HAPPY BOYS...AND, he buys her THE "perfect" gifts for every single possible occasion. Yet, here's the clincher. He cheats on her NON-STOP. EVERYONE at work knows it, too, (because he parades some if the women to work to bring him dinner, etc!! Except for his woman, who had no clue, of course. So yeah, she's getting all the right "stuff", & feels like her man is all that, bragging to everyone all the time that, "He bought me (this or that) for (inset holiday)..." Yet all the while, everyone knows he is off with another woman of the week every other day! I'd love to tell her so she could choose to move on if she desires, but I'd also never want to be the person to break her heart like that!!

I'D MUCH RATHER have my crappy-gift-giving-DH than her "all-for-show" man who's out with a new woman weekly, wining and dining THEM on his woman's $$! It's all about perspective! :0)

Bold-so sorry about your hoof issues, and saddle issues as well... :0( I apologize for having to ask (not remembering) but are you in training for Farriery? Given your comments it sounds like it...what a GREAT thing to do. If I could make a MAJOR career change, I'd LOVE to learn that trade!!

Horselovinlady- Soooo sorry about the headache I...hate...HATE(!) HEADACHES!! Are they related to a simply allergies something that can be repaired with the surgery? Wishing you THE BEST of luck in advance for your dental surgery...I hope you get the relief you deserve, and I'll pray for you on the 11th...

Drafty-you have one heck of a lucky and well-loved man! I pray Robert appreciates things like his being made dinner following the crazy long drive you went on, woman!

You TRULY (no sarcasm here!) are an amazing girlfriend! I am BETTING that Robert does know how lucky he is, and also that he does do as much for you to make all of the love you show him equal out, in terms of the partnership aspect of your relationship.

From much of what you've said, and despite the temporary "rut" you guys are in, he sounds like a good and caring man, and I'm very happy that you guys have a good "thing". You (& all of us here) are a good women. Good and loving PEOPLE PERIOD, these days especially, (!) aren't always easy to come by, generally speaking!

Alright guys...I'm off to hit the proverbial hay finally...Hope y'all have an awesome night and a great day tomorrow! :0)
